What did you do in the garden today?

They found the cat! There's a dead space in the corner of the base cabinets between the dishwasher and the corner cabinet. Somehow that fat cat squeezed through a 4 inch gap in the kickplate to get into that dead space. He's still in there. They will just have to wait for him to come out on his own.
Sounds like he put himself on a weight loss regimen! :gig
I

Lettuce, corn salad, kale, and rocket salad seeds are all sprouted in the bunny garden. I planted dandelion seeds too, but they haven't come up. Blows my mind that they grow like weeds all over my yard, but I can never get them to grow in the garden where I want them. *grump*
I read that dandelion seeds need to be stratified. Or maybe, they are waiting for you to say, "I give up!" And then, BANG! There they will be.
Google earth and zoom in, maybe there's a flag there, or a shadow. LOL
OOOOOOH!!!!! Good idea!! Let's see...... well, that garden bed used to be a tree. I don't think that's helpful. My maps app shows the garden, but there's no way to see any detail because it's so small! I'm getting impatient for the tulips to stop blooming so I can dig it up!

The first time I moved my Siamese (SC to NC) I rented a single wide. I released both of the cats and they took off, inside. I could not find them, and there's not many hiding places in a mobile home. Finally I located the cats in the cabinet ABOVE the washing machine! They opened the cabinet door on their own, and it closed behind them, no latch. I left them alone, and they reappeared the next day.

OK, looking for help or insight into what is killing my plants... It all started with the Madame Blue roses which are up by my house around late March or early April. Then it was the blueberries by the house (also around that time). I feel like it started when I pruned everything. Until then, it was all thriving... And YES, I disinfected my pruners before each plant.

All of this is probably not related to each other but different things...

Peach roses by the house. These are right next to the Madame Blue. They have been fine and healthy until this week. I'm thinking Black spot maybe?

Brand new White roses I planted by the house in a different bed that's next to the peach roses.

Purple tea roses in the garden, at least 400 ft from the house. These also started going downhill after I pruned them. I tried to save by pruning out the disease but it doesn't make a difference. The entire left side is basically dead and now the right side is dying too.

Potatoes are turning brown and crispy too.

Double Gold raspberry were going gangbusters. Suddenly the canes that were developing fruit just turned crispy brown and died for no reason. None of the non-fruit bearing canes are affected. These are also in the garden about 40 feet south of the purple tea roses but right next to a pink tea rose that (so far) is still healthy.

But while taking pictures, I did find the first strawberry of the season. 😊

Any train derailments recently? Industrial plants nearby?

Are you located near a farming operation where they might have sprayed Round Up weed killer?

Actually, he couldn't get out. They had to do some removal of the kickplate but eventually got him out. 😊

And yes, dandelions need cold stratified. I've been trying to get some to grow in my pasture. I've been trying for 2+ years and, in addition to buying seeds, also picked several gallon-sized ziploc bags full of seeds when I visited my in-laws in Indiana last summer. They had giant beautiful dandelions. I put some out in the late fall. I put the rest in the frig and then released them in early spring.

So far, other than a couple tiny dandelions in my flower bed by the house, it doesn't look like ANY of them germinated. 😕

Apparently the kickplate was flexible enough to bow just enough for that fat cat to squeeze through the gap but was too stiff to bend the opposite direction to let him out.
