What did you do in the garden today?

Replanted a bunch of chats. Having disagreement about replanting greens and beets for fall harvest. 🤪. Current bed looks baaaaaad.

Sprayed the fruit trees with horticulture oil. I need copper fungicide kinda bad for a rust problem. No aphids yet but rust and other pest problems.

Seed onions and garlic are going. Squash, tomatoes, and basil are off like rockets.

Harvested honey from my hive today. First time ever harvesting any honey. My friend and her husband and stepdaughter came out to help. The honey is really dark but tastes great! I got about 1.5 to 2 gallons of honey.

My friend checking the moisture content. It was 19%. It’s not supposed to be over 17% so I am letting the bucket of honey sit in a spare bedroom without the lid so the more moisture can evaporate before I bottle the honey.
My friend has a hive about 15 miles away from mine. They harvested a few frames of honey too. Their honey was a much lighter color than mine.

One of my grandsons helped me pick blackberries at the Farm Garden. Now I need to find a good cobbler recipe!

Was there a lot of uncapped cells?
Your honey almost looks like buckwheat honey.

I haven’t tried blackberries but I have made a lot of easy 1C cobblers. It’s 1C flour, 1C sugar, 1C milk, and 1C fruit, 1 stick butter baked at 350* for 40 min.
I adjust sugar amount in the batter based on the sweetness of the fruit Im using
