What did you do in the garden today?

At my dollar tree they are displayed with the indoor gardening section, rather than the outdoor gardening section. I'd not have found them - but by accident
Your Dollar store has an outdoor garden section? Woah. You are high class.... 😂

I was at the Dollar store yesterday to pick up a bowl to use under an indoor pot. The entire garden section consisted of an endcap. That's all they had leftover. 🙄

B- ball
K-kerr
GH- Golden Harvest
The new no name ones are the blue. Noticeably thicker and wider seal, Noticeably thicker metal on lid.

Anything is better than a 30-75% ball fail rate. It used to be less than 5% fail rate, darn right rare frankly and it was usually due to a micro chip on the glass or a stuck piece of food.

Now it's whenever with ball.

Those Ball lids have such a rough texture on the sealing surface I'm surprised that any of them hold the seal. The Kerr looks kind of rough too.

As much as you can, maybe you should see what kind of discount you'd get on a lot of 1000 of the no name lids.

I just found this:

The lids look very similar, but without the stamped in name.

I take back what I said about my Pineapple tomato, apparently I am having another wow moment. I sprinkled salt on a slice and put it on a small toasted hamburger bun, coated with mayonaise. Its hard to believe how good it taste, its something everyone must try.

I think the toasted hamburber bun with mayonaise will taste good with any slicer, it just so happen I was doing a follow up review on my Pineapple tomato. I kept some seeds, I will grow it again, the slight acid from the mayonaise and the added flavor from the salt brought everthing about the pineapple tomato together. I am giving it a high rating since it blew me away.

I used the small Great Value brand hamburger buns from Walmart.......................

FLIPPIN' HECK (jar lids)

I'm back from the Mennonite market. They get their lids bulk by the 1000 and repack in bags of 25. I got 100 wide, and 100 regular. They're THICK and the seal is WIDE compared to Ball. I'll get a photo soon.
They said they've had no problems with them. I have no idea who makes them or where they're from, but all the US ones are failing at an alarming rate. So it is what it is. They are quality controling themselves right off the market.
I did pick up a pack of Golden Harvest (same company as ball/kerr et al) but I had better luck with them last year than the Ball.
I have meats to put up today. So I'll report back.
I would guess that the canning jar lids are now being manufactured in a country with low standards and probably slave labor.
