What did you do in the garden today?

This is what happens to zucchini when you don't pay attention to your garden. Lol

Do you like Tomatillos?
This season I found a new Tomatillo from Baker Creek that is the best I have found so far.

I really love Salsa Amarillo & it's been hard to get the round ones to turn yellow with out splitting open & going bad.

This one is fantastic & makes the best salsas, I'm saving seeds & planting these again next season.

You're very welcome. I apparently got lucky because I haven't ever seen a squash bug. I don't use anything except dirt sunshine and water on my garden and the only thing I have a problem with growing is strawberry plants.
Where do you live? I have squash bugs, squash lady beetles, squash vine borers & cucumber beetles. Consider yourself VERY lucky!

Got my first greenstalk in. I only did 3 of 7 tiers since it's for lettuce only this year, gardening is pretty much over here - or at least planting anything new is past. I wish I had some spinach to put in it, only have lettuce seed. I think I'll like having them & it will work for a number of things that I can't bend to grow any more.

So my mom said you boil pumpkin on the stove and when it starts to soften you can use a potato masher to get some of the chunks out. Then you put it in hot jars and then to the pressure cooker for 90 minutes.

@Sally PB I just wanted to point out that it is not recommended to can pureed squash.
It's all a moot point now... I won't get any squash this year. If I buy any at the farmer's market, it'll be to eat, not preserve for later.

Thanks for the info.
