So are you going to pot up those volunteer tomatoes and grow them as houseplants this winter? When I came home from work I decided to give some attention to the autumn gardens.
I weeded the carrot bed, replanting in the gaps on the left side of the photo below, and planting some leaf lettuce on the right side. The lettuce seeds were from 2022, so I planted them thickly.

I then weeded the turnip bed, thinned the plants, and replanted in the gaps.

Nope, but I did briefly consider putting them in a large vase of water. I really don't have any room to have plants indoors... if I did have a place for plants my cat would probably chew on them.So are you going to pot up those volunteer tomatoes and grow them as houseplants this winter?
It was 59 in the house yesterday am & I was cold (work from home) so I kicked on the pellet stove. Never have I ever turned on any kind of heat in Sept before! It's been in the low 40s the last 2 nights.I even grabbed a bag of wood pellets in case the overnight lows chilled the house too much.
