What did you do in the garden today?

What a great idea! That could work for me, planting them in my green house. That would cut a couple months (?) off the storage.

Until then, how should I store them? They're not treated with anything.
In a cool dry place, where they won't freeze, maybe a garage? Or in the crisper drawer of your refrigerator?

I mowed a clear strip around the garden shed path. I'm sure my mower guy thinks I'm a slob for letting it get so overgrown, but it's an area that holds water, so the more green the less mud, is the way I see it. Plus, the chooks love foraging in the long grass for insects etc. My smallest Araucana pullet is lightning fast at catching white moths, so not much else stands a chance.

So, after mowing, I was headed back to the house with the dog and his broom when a commotion broke out from the sister Araucana pullet who somehow managed to get herself up on the dome BBQ. Beneath her is my rainwater tank - my dog's shell pool, and the only direction she can take to get a clear landing. All the other chickens stood in silence watching her. I could hear my sweet Pekin Joannie hoping the pullet would end up doing laps. Betty and Susie looked bored, probably thinking, oh hurry up and jump you goose! Me and the dog stood motionless watching her weigh up the odds of flying over the pool. Then, after getting everyone's attention, cool as a cucumber, she launched and flew the length of three pools or more! lol

Gingerbread update:

No garden, but woods and a log cabin workshop in the back.

My teen went a different direction and channeled her Swedish genes to create a more sparse scene.

It was fun (and messy). I drop them off tomorrow.
Beautiful! Love it! ❤️

It would be very difficult not to walk by and slip one of those chocolates! ☺️

Baker creek farm is just a few hours from me, I want to make it to one of there festivals one day
I'd love to visit them!
Sadly the Purple Galaxy tomato on the cover is already sold out.
I figured. Sigh.
grow it in the house on the window ledge and let it make you happy all winter and then root vine snips to plant.
I don't have a window that gets much light. I have PLENTY of sweet potatoes, so I might try that and all the other suggestions.

Thanks, everyone!

:he
It's not sold out; it will become available or launched in 2024. They just listed it, and you can get a notification when they become available by clicking on the tab. They probably doing this to get an idea how the demand will be like for stocking inventory.
