What did you do in the garden today?

Mine was Spoon Tomatoes. They sent me those last year. Now I have 2 unopened packages. Considering just tossing them into the pasture for bird food.

I got spicy blue basil & today I got wasabi. The order the USPS sent back to Baker Creek showed up here. I'm going to try the wasabi - if it's something that can be grown here. DH will like it.

I would love to get carrots to grow. I'm still trying though because one day I just might be successful with them.

I only grew carrots once & they were very woody. Not sure if it was the carrots or me, but I might try again.

Surgery went ok I suppose. They had to wake me up in the middle of it to test the device placement & I started throwing up so they couldn't put me back out. So yay me, I was awake for them sewing me back up & I felt ALL of it. It was awful & I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Well, maybe my WORST one. But I'm home & doing good. Bring on the gardening!

So happy you got through the surgery @Sueby. I’m curious how the wasabi growing goes. I do love wasabi. I have another hen passing. Important to note that my chickens, at least the oldest are likely production birds. They do have a shorter life span.

Sorry about your hen. I have production breeds too & they don't have such long lifespans. I think my oldest made it to 5. Short lives, but they are happy little girl & live a good life here as I'm sure your's do too. I will let you know how the wasabi goes, I'll have to start googling as I know nothing about it.

0 visibility smog here this morning. Stuck here until an unscheduled, by us, utility guy decides to show up.
Put tax $ this year towards an electric assist bike. Walking the only 1 mile road I have has become so boring, I don't even want to do it anymore, and that's no good. There's no way to do the hills around me on a bike without e- assist. Even the elite bikers they have come here for testing and rallies have trouble with my hills, which is why they use it for testing. Heck, even livestock trucks under loads have trouble. What chance have I got with pedal power?! LOL
Dh got one too, so maybe I can drag him out of the house once in a while.

All I know is that it’s a type of horseradish. The flavor is great and I like the way it warms the nasal and sinus passages. I spoke to my DD and suggested that when I have the brooder ready to let the grandkids go with her to pick out the baby chicks.

I threatened my perpetual broody with an emu egg purchase last week. Wouldn't that just teach her to want to sit. Hatch out a long legged, long necked emu to raise. HA!

Yellow dock a wild edible green is up. I sometimes eat some. DW will not knowingly eat it. So it is just for me. Columbine is sprouting after 18 days of cold stratification. I saw a couple of winter sown hollyhock seeds sprouting. One of my lilacs is breaking bud. I downsized my bandage so my shoe would fit.

You described it well. I don't like hot peppers, or so-called Cajun food, but I appreciate horseradish and wasabi.

My seedlings indoors under lights are coming along great. I put the cabbage plants in the greenhouse this week. Need to turn the soil in the garden before I plant them. Weather is suppose to be warm this week so hopefully get that done. Also have a few potatoes to plant.

The roof work went smoothly and they did a great job. 6 men and a foreman were here Monday morning and on the roof tearing off the old at 7:30 am. They worked nonstop all day. Finished the job and did not leave a speck of trash! Very pleased!

The foreman came in to give me an estimate on replacing my windows and get the check for the roof. As he was leaving, he had a coughing fit. Told me he'd had a head cold for 3 days.
Tuesday, hubby and I started feeling sick. No fever but sniffling, sneezing, coughing, watery eyes and headache. Still not feeling so good. Gosh, I'm ready for this stuff to get off of me.

The bed had been planted mid September, so they were ready, almost overdue.

I planted right after you did. I've harvested a few. They are Little Finger. I need to check mine!

I gotta pull my cold strat seeds out of the fridge today and go through them.
