Goat watch: Day 147 (max). No signs of impending birth today. But, what do I know? I'm new to all this.

Pregnant goats: Lunch on left, rugrats on right. (her right).

This is Roxie - likely a little further along than the other. Her "rugrat" side is next to the fence - she doesn't look too big.

This is Molly: We thought she might be 2-3 weeks behind Roxie, but I'm thinking she might not be too far behind...maybe she'll birth first. She seems a little less big than Roxie.

Apparently, goats wait for the worst weather possible to give birth. So, here is the worst weather in the next week:

Monday looks like a good candidate for a birth day. Kinda chilly, and rather wet considering good rain the day before and lots of rain that day.

Hoping to plant potatoes today. Might purchase some dirt to split the rhubarb and raise the dirt level in the beds. General garden cleanup also needs to happen. Also, I should really start some tomato seedlings.

What does rattlesnake taste like?

Tastes like chicken. Texture is lighter. We ride or drive over to the river, skin them, clean them, then put them in a bag with whiskey in it until we get back to camp.

My Brad's Atomic grape seeds that I got from Bakers Creek, produced a mix of 1-inch to 2-inch slightly round shaped fruit. They don't look like the original atomic bomb shaped fruits printed on the package.

any one here grow sorghum to make molasses/syrup?

bought a few hundred seeds to give it a try as I found out we could grow it up here in Canada (the type of sorghum is Mennonite) and want to give it a try to make some molasses/syrup from it, as no cane sugar is growing here in Canada haha

some what no sugar maples here but we have box elders i make syrup from.

Hope your bumble foot heals quickly. Sometimes I think Drs make things worse.

No. It is going to heal this time. Not as deep and smaller diameter. It was dry before the DR messed with it. Just set it back IMO. It will get a scab this time. It started to.

I call it Manitoba maple, no one here knows what that is, say box elder and attracts those maple bugs then every one is like oh that tree. plus its Manitoba and when have a sports rivalry with there football team lol
