What did you do in the garden today?

My husband is a hoarder in my opinion and I am very much not. Makes for a frustrating time on occasion.
Our best friends are like that. I have to try to stay out of the discussion. Now that they're both retired, you'd think they could work on "the pole barn." I just hope this doesn't ruin their marriage.

I have fathead minnows in my little ponds (100g). Bullfrogs have wiped out my goldfish on several occasions, but enough minnows survive to breed and replenish my mosquito controls!
So if I set up the rain barrels under a gutter spout on the chicken coop, I can collect roof rain water. I was wondering, as a kid we all used actual wood coated with thick wax barrels, but nowadays they've got the plastic. One thing I noticed, when water is in plastic, it slimes up faster.

Would you add fish to a particular type of barrel? Also, what do you feed the fish? I mentioned this to DH & he shook his head...said I'm not a good candidate for that, he says I start out all logical & talking about efficiency & function, but in time my attachment grows, so all I'm doing is adding another "pet" to my menagerie to care for & worry about. 😆 He may have a point, there, I used to have tropical fish tanks growing up, also turtles, newts, frogs...Do I get a bit carried away? Maybe. ❤️

She's beautiful. I love pitbulls. My pitbull that I had to put down in 2015 was red nose and American bulldog. He weighed 88 lbs. He would sit down when I snapped my fingers and pointed at a spot. When I snapped and put my finger on the floor he would lay down.
I had a GSD/Lab dog like that, best dog ever. I lost her too soon.

That's rough, I hope not too!

I don't pester him about it too much, but sometimes it drives me crazy.

The ponds are preform, some sort of plastic. They do get algae, and snails magically appear and keep it under control. I don't feed my minnows, they have plenty of larvae to eat. Oh, and frogs show up, too. You build a pond and they will come...

Mine doesn’t have wire shelves, but the ones that are there are only half the depth of the cupboards. In practice this means not only do I only have half the amount of shelf space I ‘should’ have, but I also can’t fit some of the taller appliances because the half shelf takes up too much space vertically for them to fit. Some day I’m going to redo the kitchen and get nice roll-out shelves.
As bending over with arthritis killing the L4 & sacroiliac, I want to rip out the entire lower cabinet section in the kitchen & do nice roll outs, for all the pots, pans & bakeware & that stupid, skinny, tall cabinet (a "mock" pantry lol) for the canning supplies. I'm aching today, & home here, that's why I'm grumbling so much about it, trying to get stuff done. I'm going to switch gears & set up my little seed starters & seeds now...it'll put me in a better mood.

Limited storage in the house (no basement or attic). So, first thing we did was bust through the wall in kid’s room walk-in closet, to double our walk in closet!! So nice! The one in kids room was in a bad place for utilizing that room, so it made sense to take that closet away and build new one in different section of the room.

The new closet is comprised of two small walk in closets that were side to back to each other (the back of MB closet was against side of kid closet before demo).

My design, my husband’s work! Only change is that both dressers are by the door, opposite one another (and the same size -had to go to IKEA for a matching one, kid got the smaller one on the right). And center area (no shelves in pic), have adjustable shelves, whereas the ones to either side are fixed height.
