What did you do in the garden today?

Going to share a recipe. I quart tomato juice. I use the spaghetti measure for 1 on the handle. Cook the noodles in the juice with spices. Thickens up as the noodles soak up juice. Meatballs. DIY spice mix. 1 TBS of marjoram, basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, savory, sage. I use 3/16 of a cup for this or 1/4 cup 3/4 full. This is enough for 2 people.
No need to simmer sauce down when canning. I just can juice. Try it. I did do sauce last summer but never again after trying this.

I was wrong about the rain.... It's pouring pretty good. Oopsie. Hopefully it's not running off the lawn at the house. 🤷‍♀️

Sulphur is brutal... I wore latex gloves and my hand still smells like sulphur today... After washing dishes, shower, lots of hand washing. I mean, I like the smell, but I'm impressed. I used to not wear gloves, but decided to try so I didn't smell like sulphur at work today. Oh well.

I love the baby photos!!!! Such cute boys! 💚

I know what OCD stands for, but what does ADHD stand for?
"Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder" I'm not medicated and sometimes it's literally crippling for daily activities and having conversations. I am OCD as well, a product of my ADHD. I have to write everything down or I forget, I can hardly ever focus on one single thing at a time and I struggle to sit still... I can listen to someone and completely forget what they said while they're still talking. I even forget what I'm going to say to someone when I'm about to say it because something(even a simple sound or smell) triggers another thought. It's exhausting. My son even says "Mama... Mama, focus" 😂

I was looking at my Tycoon Tomato plant growing in a 5 gallon grow bag and began to contemplate on the fruit fly issue at hand. I came up with an idea that might work. I read that some states spray sweet Spinosad solution to control fruit fly. My idea is to mix sweet red wine with Spinosad and let the fruit fly drink it. I have been killing a lot of fruit flies with a half cup of sweet red wine with a half tsp of dish soap. This method drowns them, hmm maybe I could wrap a sticky paper strip around the inside lip of the cup and catch more. This is another idea; I'll look for the Spinosad spray at my local Lowes and try the Captain Jacks Spinosad powder I have on hand for now.

I get it. I can relate with getting off topic at the drop of a hat, especially if a beautiful bird suddenly swoops in, a double rainbow appears, or something equally camera worthy...I go into automatic "get the camera" mode & totally ignore what is being said.

I've always liked writing better than speaking. If it is someone I know & share common interests, I can finish sentences easily, or even jump to the next 5 questions, the "yet to be said" statement would inspire. I realize I must drive some folks nuts. I go nuts trying to stop myself. I do it with DH on occasion & gets a little ticked off...then he says "can ya just let me finish my story?" I know I need to just focus, don't look away thinking of other stuff, don't go off simultaneously searching for something, just look at him & let him speak. Why is it So Difficult! He is by no means a slow talker either. I just do this, always have, not sure why. At 3 yrs old, adults thought it was cute & pretty smart this little kid took the words out of their mouths. In school, some teachers didn't appreciate it at all. Now, as an adult, its just considered smart ass behavior. 😆

I am sorry! I am trying, but sometimes I just can't stop finishing someone else's sentence then jumping ahead. Is that ADD?

If so, my Dad had it, too. I recall us both just saying the punchlines to jokes then laughing, while others were scratching their heads. Oh he could tell a great joke from start to finish. But when he wanted his daughter to laugh so bad that stomach hurt & tears were in my eyes, he'd just say the end punchline without the full joke. Then the reactions of other people's quizzical expressions made me laugh harder...yup, that was priceless. Geez, I miss laughing like that Dad!

My other idea is to use two 5 gallon grow bags in my DYI earth boxes, instead of filling the tub up with pro mix. I will get the root pruning benefit of the grow bag and limit how big the determinate tomato plant can grow.

I will drill the wicking hole in the middle of where the bag will sit and use a microfiber cloth to wick the water up to the grow bags. I am pretty sure this will work since I water my tomato plants in grow bags from the bottom catch pan.

I found a box in one of my sheds. It's from someone else's stored stuff, jeans, previous homeowner maybe...A large person.

I was initially looking for flower pots, or grow bags. Hey, It gives me an idea...repurpose mode has kicked in.

So what do ya think? 😆
