What did you do in the garden today?

But they do look pretty when dressed or staged. Just never had an animal looking at me from under! We got rid of our when kids came bc I didn’t want to make ER visit
My 3 experiences with glass tables...

1) My 1st house in the 80s I saw a set, black metal bottoms with glass tops, 1 coffee table & 2 end tables, all for $99. They looked great with the new sofa. I can't tell ya how many times I ran into a coffee table corner though, cuz I couldn't see the darn thing. The glass probably should've been tinted. I took the glass top to a place that cut it down & rounded all edges & corners. That saved my legs from further bruising. I got rid of the set after a few years.

2) I visited a friend & we sat at her new glass kitchen table. That top was so thick! She had 2 dogs. They went under the table & stared up at us, drooling on our feet, salivating over whatever we were eating. The underside of the table top was full of nose prints & slobber marks. Note to self...no glass top kitchen tables will be in my future.

3) My mom gave me a glass top table for outside. Literally within 48 hours, we had a tornado take out a 30 foot Magnolia tree, sail it through the air across the yard, maybe 100 feet, & bust up the glass top table. Didn't even get to use the darn thing once.

3 strikes & you're out...so no more glass tables in my life.

I grew it in Florida and Alabama. It goes insane there. It likes the warm days and nights, and the LONG season. Getting it to grow and produce much north of Arkansas is a challenge, but you can get one or two or three.
Somehow I got luffa seeds in the compost pile.... Which was spread in multiple garden beds.

So yeah... My luffa has become invasive... 😂

Freeze dryer comes tomorrow...

Same. It did nothing here for the weeds.

Creeping Charlie is my nemesis. It just shows up everywhere.

Who knew!? That's probably why I don't have it here, we have so many deer.

Starting to sprinkle out, looks like I'll be dodging rain all day if I do any garden work.
Boiling water kills pretty much anything. Add salt to it and stand back. I get bindii around the backyard and don't like to use poison. Boiling water has always worked. Anything growing in cracks out the front gets a blast as well. Those small steamers also work great at blasting weeds.

Spinach in my experience the bolting is triggered by day length. In my area it bolts the end of May no matter when it is planted. We do not have enough heat early to reliably get a crop. For me it does better as a fall crop. The shortening of day length prevents bolting.

in my hot enough climate spinach/lettuce/brassica/... are fall/winter crops.
