What did you do in the garden today?

I tried to catch up on the thread but 40 pages was too many. I kept falling behind further.

I hurt my back really bad last Sunday. Husband put the boat in reverse really hard and fast when I was trying to get off the bow onto a dock and my back folded backwards, then I plummeted into the lake. I'm still cycling through good days and painful days.

Garden is chugging along. It's going to be hot this week, low 100's. Not excited about that. I'm tired from being too busy and this is my son's last week of school, then it's summer break.

So sorry your DH hurt your back. Glad you didn't drown.

Yikes!!! I hope you get back to normal quickly! Glad you are on the mend.

I’m not sure how I feel about this… the babies discovered tasty strawberry leaves…

Chowing down. The girl, in back, was intent and very into the leaves. The boy kept going back to the old dried leaves on the plants.

I’m out running errands and stopped to pick up some shaved Ribeye - a request for dinner: beef subs. This local been-around-forever market and meat shop sells lunch sandwiches, but offers a hot special sandwich type meal a few times a week. I just ate a fried bologna sandwich (1/3-1/2” thick slab of high quality bologna that they make) with lettuce/tomato/onion/pickles on a bun for …

Wait for it …

$3.50.

The bologna was distinctly larger than the bun too! I’ve eaten other things here (it’s a bit far from home so I only get lunch here when I’m in the area) and some things are more expensive, but never more than $5. The guy ahead of me got 2 deli sandwiches (not the hot one) and 2 large gatorade-type drink (didn’t see label) for $8. Anyway, now I’m stuffed!

Off to continue errands.

Cloudy all day long was the forecast. Well, the sun decided to come out around 10, so it is hard for me to stay inside! I spent about an hour and twenty minutes on the front porch brushing the dogs while there was still shade up there. The 6 month old didn't need much brushing, the 2.5 year old required an hour of brushing, and I could have brushed out more, but she decided that more than an hour was enough.

Oh I know about bending over, or should I say attempting to bend over. And if ya do bend over, good luck unbending! So yeah we're supposed to bend at the knees right? Of course we are. Well, when you've got pain in torn meniscus, you tend to bend at the lower back more. Anyway...loading & unloading a simple dishwasher or getting clothes out of washer & dryer become a challenge. As far as setting the slug traps...I've gotten pretty darn good at a gentle Frisbee like tosses of saucers & pouring beer without bending. 😆
FYI: I laughed at your frisbee comment, not the medical diagnoses.
