What did you do in the garden today?

They're on leaves closer to the ground, so I have to bend way over to find them.
I forgot to add, they're on the underside of the leaves! (In case anyone didn't know.)

I did find a better/faster way to look for them. Take both hands and encircle the plant at the base, with your hands making a circle about the size of a softball. Slowly bring your hands up, so that the leaves have to slide through your hands, and you can see the underside of the leaves. The eggs are bright orange, so they're easy to spot. You don't have to examine the leaves, just a glance, and you'll see the eggs if they're there.
I've been working on that weird space under the stairs
It's a GREAT place to store stuff! Like canned goods, or freeze dried food, or boxes of pasta.
Worst part was my taste going away
Did it come back?

My taste came back but my dd no longer likes cilantro when hers came back! 😢 now I’m only one in house who eats it. Rest say it tastes like soap or sewage (ewww)

He's such a cute kid!
Thank you. He's so sweet and has a personality like out of this world. He got attached to me after I had gone to sit with him and his brother. Every time I showed up they would both fall asleep in about 15 minutes. My son and daughter in law were just like WTF. I would just laugh.

Flies...we just had a lot of rain overnight & the number of flies around my chicken's pens & in the coop is just crazy today. I've cleaned up obvious poo, but with the rain, Everything outside is still very wet. I used the sticky ribbons for years but they don't seem to work well these days, not sure why, and besides, I really do not want to risk a bird getting hung up in a sticky fly ribbon. It happened one time, years ago, curious girl liked pecking at flies, decided to check out the hanging buzzing fly ribbon & made a jump for it. She was fine, just a bit bald for awhile & I do not care to repeat that experience.
So what is your best treatment for flies?
I don't know that it works but I heard putting water in a Ziploc bag and adding 3 shiny pennies to it will cause them to stay away bc they can't fly near it. The pennies catch the sun and blinds them.

A thick layer of pine shavings, oddly enough. Bare Earth and the flies lay eggs in it.

I finished the back splash. I cannot find my bottle of sealer, and both bathroom back splashes need done too. So I'll grab another one in the city. The picture stinks, but here it is. I'll rehang the chicken paintings with those pop and click 3m strips this weekend.

This is the first year using the cattle panel hoop house I built for my mom. I am pleasantly surprised it's working so well! The tomatoes are just loving it! They have flowers and baby tomatoes and are 4+ feet tall already. I think that's more than twice as tall as in years past in early June. My mom started all of them from seed in the winter.

Keep an eye on your cover. When it UV degrades it does it in a hurry and starts shedding plastic shards EVERY WHERE, like snow. Ours was a UV stable greenhouse cover and lasted from March to November here, and by January was completely gone.
