What did you do in the garden today?

Today I pulled out most of my green cabbage and then the turnips. I got more greens than turnips which is fine because I prefer the greens. Gave my middle grandson a cherry tomato and he spit it out and said that he didn't like it. 😳 The boy is a bit of an oddball.
My daughter loved to eat raw onions and tomatoes and lettuce and now she is deciding she doesn't like onions or lettuce... think her taste buds are changing or she is following her brother who doesn't like veggies....

Your gs reminds me of my dd when little. She said she didn’t like cherry tomatoes yet as she played outside she cleaned one that what completely full of red tomatoes!!

Yes. I have placed a bunch of orders and the best thing about it is if you don't see it as being of good quality or just not happy about the look you can send it back for a full refund. Also if you get it after the date stated you get 5.00 and a full refund plus if it does arrive you get to keep it. I ordered a dumpling maker and it was broken so they refunded me my money and told me to keep the item or throw it away then they tagged the place selling it for selling a broken product.
Sounds like Amazon is getting some competition

Good morning all. We managed to get through yesterday without any severe weather. A nice cool and dry front moved in over night. First look at the garden, lots of growing going on and lots of bugs munching. I’ll be doing some weeding and spraying with neem oil after I feed the chickens. Fingers crossed the weather stays nice enough to mow the backyard this afternoon.

I want nothing that works on the liver as it is already damaged. I do not buy the cholesterol lie. Eisenhower paradox. They started this low fat cholesterol stuff when Ike had his first heart attack. The paradox is it did not and does not help. Minesota research in 60s - 70s was hidden from the public until recently discovered. For every 30% lower cholesterol the death rate increased 22% for all causes. Since my experiences I have done my research and come to my own conclusions.
Chemo did a real number on my liver, kidneys & bone marrow, even my tooth enamel. After trying numerous medications for the chronic kidney infections, which were useless & had side effects so I stopped them & did juicing, various recipes of cranberries along with cucumber, apple, lemon, parsley & others for varying flavor. 6 mos of daily juicing cleared up all kidney issues!

I took Milk Thistle (silymarin) & whatever anomaly on liver xray was there shrunk (liver cyst?).

The bone marrow damage is permanent & I can get exhausted & run down easy so I just need to rest when the body says so, & not push through working like I always used to, or I will be asking for trouble, but I take Papaya Leaf & by taking that, my red & white blood counts do improve vs not taking it.

As for the tooth enamel...still searching for info, but meanwhile I use MI paste after brushing with Tom's of Maine, because I avoid fluoride. My teeth just are not as white as they used to be, since our dentin is more off white, but oh well, as least I still have them. I told the dentist to check out these fish...maybe there's something to be learned from them. šŸ˜†

Anyway, I always try to find nature's way of healing & wondered if you looked into Milk Thistle for the liver?

As far as cholesterol, I've eaten fresh eggs nearly daily since my 1st plate of scrambled eggs at 3 yrs of age & my cholesterol has always been low, so I think it can be affected by what we eat, but it's probably more about our individual body types, genetics, or how our body's get damaged from illnesses or wrong medications, but I really am not sure. Sometimes the info we find on the internet is geared more for making money than actual knowledge, so gotta be careful about what we see on the web.

I bought some "Alkolol" nasal wash years ago. It's smells great. Cinnamoney like. I mix it about half and half with saline and put in the ayr saline squirter bottle. My daughter and her kids now use it to. No burn like saline, and it thins mucus. Can also be used on sunburns and a gargle. I would suggest it for the NO Navage group.
Wow, I will try it, I love cinnamon šŸ˜‹

Has anyone tried to break records w their fruit and veggies?
I was watching video of a man raise a mammoth pumpkin! Was thinking of next year šŸ¤” w the butternut
At this point, I'm not breaking any records, just praying the plants survive hail & brutal heat & the pests. Those Japanese Beetles are here now, little jerks! They are everywhere but really like the Magnolia flowers. I pick them off to throw to a chicken but she's more interested in raiding the blueberries just ripe for picking. When I toss the beetle it may hit the ground but most times the buggers fly off just before a chicken's beak reach. What's really annoying, those little pests are often in the act of step 1 to reproduction, while on a beautiful Magnolia flower... what sick little perverts!

Don't plant walnuts anywhere near your garden. Google "juglone;" it's an allelopathic compound that walnuts produce that inhibit germination and/or growth in other plants.
Great advice, thank you! Are they still OK in the garden in their own pots just for the time being, though? My intention is to plant them in late fall, along the outside fence line, where I tried other trees that didn't grow - about 150 feet from the garden and 75 feet from other fruit trees. Do you think that's far away enough?
