What did you do in the garden today?

Went out to start pulling out my corn considering the heat prevents me from being able to water it good enough so it's time to get it out and start cutting down the weeds so that hopefully I can get some more squash growing. I absolutely love squash so I would prefer to have the squash although I love my corn on the cob but it's just not happening. I have also found some of the ears have been peeled back by whatever critter is having fun munching on it. I did get to town today and gave the lady at the store 2 dozen eggs, cherry tomatoes and a squash. I told her I wanted to start selling my eggs for 4$ a dozen and she said she would let people know.

Woke up to the washing machine going out in grand style. She finally blew a bearing, at 4 years old. This is my second LG washing machine to go out this way. The other was 6 years old. I'm DONE with LG.
This machine was also a CONSTANT battle with mold, behind in the drum, in the soap dispenser and in the gasket - despite monthly deep cleanings. and the door leaked. Ridiculous.
I'm going back to a top load Speed Queen. Plain simple workhorse.
But as long as the laundry room is empty, it's a good time to repaint the whole laundry. So that's the plan for tomorrow.

I had a top-of-the-line Maytag commercial washer that went out on me after just a couple years, ticked me off. I still have the dryer. I went in and said I need a large washer (have to wash coveralls) - bare bones, no fancy crap. After I could find no one to fix the Maytag washer.

Here either! I was going to keep the dryer, but it's 11 years old and starting to take longer to dry clothes, even though it's clean as if it were new. I'll donate it.
And the bases I'll save for my son if he wants them later. They cost me $500 4 years ago, and NOW they're $800!

I miss my Fisher & Paykel, had that washing machine for over 15 years. I can't find them locally in the US or I'd get another.
