What did you do in the garden today?

Stainless. I have one of these things my sister gave me years ago, but I just rub my oniony hands under water while rubbing one of my tablespoons.

You can also rub the inside of your sink with your bare soapy hands, should you have a stainless steel sink.

...Anyway...it's still hot as can be here. I want to plant something...any suggestions for winter crop? We have mild Autumn's here, sometimes still in the 60's up to Thanksgiving.

I plant collards. They grow all winter long, though not actively in freezing weather. I've seen them covered in a thin layer of ice/sleet/snow. Didn't hurt them at all.

If I don't eat them the flock LOVES them.

Last winter's collards:

The row cover is to prevent cabbage moths, etc.

Planted some today:

Kitchen faucet had reduced flow - pressure. Figured screen gunked up. Cleaned all the screens I could find. Nope. Finally took the cartridge out. Screen inside there. Not able to clean that internal screen. Too late in the day to try in town. I will have to find a new cartridge tomorrow. Local or 30 min drive or 1 hour drive. Who knows.
