Crossing the Road
Sometimes I'll whack a hardboiled egg around its equator? with the edge of a teaspoon, break it in half and just scoop the egg out with the spoon. No peeling involved.

I seriously feel like most of society is possessed... Society has become so angry, self-absorbed, entitled, and narcissistic. They've lost all courtesy, kindness, empathy, morals, and manners as a whole...generally speaking. If this is what technology and the internet have brought us to, I'd rather go back to the stone age. Just saying....Just the polar opposite, new moon.
SERIOUSLY!
I am nothing but kind and generous - glory.
The guy at Costco was downright scary.
There must have been something in the air today. I had a terrible day. I cried twice. I'm generally pretty tough but I also came from an abusive family... Things were always my fault. I sometimes fall into that mindset when people are nasty to me because I try to be the nicest, most honest, respectful, empathetic person I can be. It catches me off guard when someone can be so terrible to me when I just try to be agreeable and understanding while also not getting walked all over. I'm nice, not an idiot.Everywhere I went today, people were behaving very badly, tempers were off the charts, road rage was nuts today.
By the time I got home my anxiety was creepy off the charts. I'm about ready to sit in a corner and suck my thumb.
Days like that are hard on my Quaker sensibilities.
And to top it all off, my always moody bike mechanic went off on me this morning. I left feeling like it was all my fault, but the owner told me he's just always like that. I was almost to tears (came from a verbally abusive home, and I'm not used to being treated like crap and it's always was my fault, IYKWIM.)
I told the owner that if the mechanic can't deal with customers, then he needs to shut the repair office door and always have a go between, because that was NOT COOL.
Then there was a guy that went nuts (not on me) at the grocery lot.
And a guy they were two seconds from calling the cops on next to me in line at Costco.
Breathe, breathe......
Hummies are on the move, so feeders are full and fresh each morning.
I gave away 5 pounds of tomatoes this morning.
Other than that, it's just watching Fall sneaking in.
Rolling the eggs all over seems to be a sure way to get the shell off without damaging the egg. So long as you get the shell to pull the membrane away. If I don't get the shell broken up enough before I try to remove it, the membrane gets caught on the white and takes a piece with it. You just can't roll too hard or the egg mushes too much and tears a bit. I have practiced a lot.I steam eggs to hard boiled them. I put water in bottom of the steamer pot, but not high enough to touch the steamer basket. When the water boils I place the steamer basket in with the eggs and cover with lid. Steam for for around 15 to 17 minutes. When the time is up place the steamed eggs in ice water. Take the steamed eggs out of the ice water, one at a time and roll them to crack the shells and then peel shells off.
I was at the mall last week, in and out trip to pick up an order. I had a fierce case of the hungries and was passing a pretzel place that has the initial AA. I stood in line watching the woman that worked there interact with two people ahead of me, both construction guys fresh off the site in the parking lot (100° weather). Then she handled a cc and the second was cash, be-booping the register then handling their food. She then asked if I could wait just a moment while she put another batch in quickly.
Sure. Did she wash? Nope. Was she just moving trays to the oven? Nope. She proceeded to roll pretzels. I pretended to take a phone call, waved, smiled, and walked away.
Blech.
Is it a full moon?
Oh, wow! I'm sorry to hear this!
I went into town and had the opposite happen. I had a lot of stops, and there was a line everywhere, but everyone was nice, polite, friendly, helpful.
Oh. My.It's kind of hard to tell, but those potatoes were cut in half with the flat side in the grease. But if the grease was deep enough, sure, you could fry whole potatoes if you wanted.
