It does not slow drip. I have 2 of them, and if the soil gets too dry, or is not tamped down in each level, the water goes through the soil quickly. I plug the hole with my finger when filling. Sometimes, I'll put a scoop or two of soluble fertilizer in, then fill. Sometimes, I've had to run water into each level. I have both filled with strawberries.
I once grew a jalapeño called "Fooled You" with zero heat and all the flavor.
Seems like there are more seed packing errors than ever. I bought 2 dahlia varieties this year and they look nothing like the package photo. I do like them both, though.Pepper seed. I bought what I thought according to the label was multi-colored bell pepper seed, only to see 3 of the 8 plants I started were bell the rest were banana pepper plants.

We had mejiro in Hawaii. They are the cutest. Someone told me recently that cayenne powder deters moles. Could you use it for that?
Anxious for mine to ripen...I planted several varieties, some new so hope to save seed for next year. Many of them are half runners...and I didn't put any supports in.

I wonder if your soil is too dense, as in clay or packed? They like sandy soil. I couldn't get them to fruit in Hawaii or Okinawa. Similar soils. They grow crazy here.
Aren't winter squash stored in dry, warm storage? I just cooked the last of my butternut squash from last season. They were kept in my downstairs bedroom all year.
