What did you do in the garden today?

Very dry and windy here. I put all the dog bedding out to blow, did some garden soaking while I caught up on this thread. The basil seeds arrived from @akroberts1085 last week, within good time concidering they came from Cali and ive waited as long to get post from my neighbouring state.

The kangaroo paw is putting on a good Spring show this year!

Those are gorgeous. I don't know if they would do good here but if you can do it could you please send me a couple of them?. I would greatly appreciate it.

We got a teeny drizzle last night too. I watered whats left out there - strawberries, greens, carrots & my venus fly trap.

I'm struggling with culling a couple old hens. One of them was laying very thin shelled eggs that were breaking, one day one will break in her & it won't be good. I don't really want to feed them through the winter, I need more young chickens for eggs in the spring, but I've never culled anyone just because they were getting old. 😟

We need a care emoji. I did cull one of the roosters, but I still have 3 more that need to go. I just keep putting it off.
