What did you do in the garden today?

Light rain off and on all day. I use soil moist crystals in my potting mix. They also sell it already in some potting mixes. I had coons on the game camera in the yard.
I put those crystals in and watered just before nightfall... in morning those pots were dumped and coon prints around. They didn't bother the other pots without.

They were making popping sounds as they absorbed the water.... but they dug them again when I replanted. So I'm not sure, could have been a coincidence 🤔
Annoying beggars. I really have to admire the tenacity and dedication of American backyard growers given the amount of wildlife you deal with.

The trick is so simple! It uses diapers!

Sand & Sisal

:D
I never would have thought of this.
I think those are expensive. At least I had trouble getting my mom to use those. she said they were expensive.

They mixed it up with water. I just added to dry potting soil and then soaked. I was thinking that swelling and noise attracted raccoons.

And it seems like everything in Australia trys to kill you 😂
I think this myth was started by the anti-toursim mob lol
Look at this gorgeous gal .. she wouldn't hurt a .. flie hehehe. I had a 'pet' red back in a watering can. She caught all the escaping mozzies and grew lovely and large.

My best friend in childhood lived in Queensland, right along the coast. Her family had a cattle farm just outside of Rockhampton. No.... I think it's fair to say that Oz is far more dangerous than where I grew up in the Midwestern US. 😂 I can remember my friend being horrified that I actually had a pet snake (a non-venomous corn snake) and pet spiders as a kid. Given the propensity of those things to be deadly in Australia, I can understand why...
