What did you do in the garden today?

Well I'm glad the trees got cut down before the storms tonight.

My 100 foot Peafowl barn roof lifted into the air and collapsed the entire building with my birds in it. My husband and boys were able to catch some peafowl and free some from the netting but the storm was still going and it was getting dark. We'll have to see tomorrow what we can do.
😞
I hope all the birds are ok!

G’morning everyone. Between yesterday afternoon and early this morning we got about another third of an inch of rain :yesss: Everything is looking quite happy out there. It’s still dripping wet though so probably nothing outside until this afternoon or tomorrow morning. I’ve been canning split pea soup and making ham hocks and beans for Igor so busy nonetheless. Have a wonderful Saturday all.

A couple of tornados came through Arkansas as well. Damage in 16 counties, 3 people dead... I was quite surprised that we came out generally unscathed despite huddling down in the bathroom while rotation passed overhead. We lost one big limb from one of the giant oak trees. The winds ripped it off one of the trees and flung it into the pasture like a matchstick. The limb was probably 6-8" in diameter, approximately 15 ft long, and had just started budding out so most definitely alive before it was ripped off the tree. Oh well, I count us very lucky that's the only damage... It didn't even knock over my Greenstalks. Amazing...

Thank you, I am mostly good! I’m not lifting heavy things, the teen can do that for me.
I strained the right side of my lower back lifting a moist filled 5-gallon pot. It took me a while to figure out the right place to stretch. I was laying on my left side and hung my right leg off the bed and grabbed the opposite bed edge with my right hand and kind of twisted and something moved in my lower back and the pain went away the next few days.

Im a glutton for punishment so I built a little edge garden along the coop. I we’ll see how long this lasts. I’m sure the girls will make quick work of it.
