What did you do in the garden today?

I'm cooking the last four potatoes from the ones I grew last year. I kept them in the shop over the winter, in a single layer inside a closed cardboard box. They kept really well.

They were grown from organic small potatoes I got from the grocery store, red and white. Actually they were free. They were in boxes of produce the store throws away for the locals to use as animal feed.

Added beneficial nematodes to all the indoor pots. 🙏 they take care of the fungus gnats. Still on the fence if I should put them on the outdoor beds or wait: we’re supposed to have snow and multiple nights of below freezing weather next week. 🥶

Basil seedlings are getting their true leaves; one that I thought was something else is looking like it might be a Red Rubin after all as it’s almost purple now.

Hot peppers are doing well too, if they keep this up I might need to move them to their permanent home sooner than expected.

I just ordered a pack of 75 Marconi seeds from amazon. It's probably home-grown. It says the seeds were grown in 2024 for 2025. I ordered more stuff from Ohio seeds because I notice they list the actual year they were grown.

I tried Burpee, but I have no idea how old their seeds are, and they cost 4 times as much. I got some Burpee Marconi seeds to sprout, but it took a long time.
