What did you do in the garden today?

YES!!🤦‍♀️!! We do it that way when we need to hammer fence staples.
keep a close eye on it for infection- it can happen fast
I will. Thank you! I mostly use Foille Medicated First-Aid Ointment this stuff works wonders for cuts, burns and insect bites etc. With the benzocaine it's off limits for chickens but still a good product for people.

Went out and looked at my green beans bed. The green beans that sprouted were gone. Again. The third time and I KNOW ITS ROLY POLYS! UGH..I've planted this bed three times now. I used Dr.Jacks organic big powder on them but we have had light off n on drizzle for couple days so that didn't work..any Roly poly advice? Rant over-
Can you start them inside, and then transplant?

I used to get voles that would go down the line and eat the seeds. I had some success putting TP tubes around them. The tube needs to be down in the soil deeper than the seed.

I think I am going to have to! Thank you, didn't think of it since I always start them in the ground.

Was only able to take pics in between showers. Boy is my garden a jungle but everything seems to be coming up. Cucumbers are trellising with the beans not far behind. I thought I would smother stuff w hot chicken poo and chips and must be perfect spot for morning glories! 😱 one part is overtaken!
My chicks are growing. About a month apart!

I just got around to starting a germination test on the rattlesnake beans I saved from last year's vines. Should've done it long ago. 20 random seeds between sheets of wet paper towels, on a plate covered with plastic wrap. I'll leave it outside in the shade during the day to keep them warm.

I bought a packet of a different variety of climbing beans (Blue Lake Pole) and a packet of bush bean seeds (Provider) as backup. Both are heirloom varieties, so to save seeds from all three varieties I'll have to plant them far enough apart, or at different times to reduce the risk of cross pollination.

We got the very first blackberries today!!! They were eaten before we left the bramble. 🤣 The only other thing I did in the garden, water. More watering. Getting tired of manual watering. I will work on the drip lines very soon.
What blackberries? I saw NO blackberries. There are no blackberries yet in the garden, ahem.

The holes for the tomatoes are made, but I don't think I'll plant until tomorrow. There is a round of storms later today.

Anew birdhouse is up, replacing one that isn't making standards for the birds.

The chicks went on a walk-about while I worked out there. They fought relentlessly over a sticker and a dandelion stem. They crack me up.
