They are a slooooow grower though. Belatedly I learned that most people in the South start theirs in December indoors so they are far enough along to actually flower the following summer. They are sensitive to temperatures (both hot and cold) depending on growing stage. There are also different types so don't be quick to assume they won't grow well for you. Just takes understanding of the types you want. I probably started mine too late (February, and I'm Zone 7B). Next year I'll start mine earlier. I get my seeds from Eden Brothers and Johnny's.I did too! Looked it up and the the first thing that popped out was “suffers in high humidity”. Scratch that off my want list
