What did you do in the garden today?

I was wondering what you were going to do with that stuff.
I put the zucchini flour in jars and they're in the cupboard. So far, that's what I've done with it...

Hubby liked the zucchini bread I made last summer. I had planned to use the flour when I made more. But I haven't made more.

Planted some muskmelons and bush lima beans last night. I'm hoping I'm not too late but I think I have time. I tend to plant too early in my eagerness so I think I'm later, but not too late. zone 7b

Pruned the tomatoes aggressively. I'm trying hard this year to prune them at least one time a week since I'm trellising them up cattle panel. I always seem to wait too long and next thing I know, I have 4 leaders, chaos, and I'm fighting disease from the humidity of the NE. Picking strawberries, raspberries and cucumbers and peas. I'd like to note that my children will eat nothing that I have in good supply or that is "free" (scarcity is all they crave) so I'm pretty much eating a pound of strawberries a day as I putter around the garden. I should make jelly out of it if I can ever find the time.

I trimmed the kale back and gave it to the chickens, to their great joy. Also trimmed my sage which has gone to seed. Gave it to the chickens just to see if they'd eat that too. Jury is still out. They gorged on kale before I tossed it in. I'll see if they nom it while I'm away.

I cleared out the top bed in my ornamental garden at the front of the house a few days ago (ivy hell) and I'm threatening to plant winter luxury pumpkins there simply to keep the bed active before I plant in the fall. But I really should solarize it to kill that ivy super dead. But how convenient since pumpkins take up so much space! Every time I've planted Winter Luxury pumpkins they are ready by July so a late start won't be the worst thing. Still debating but more space to garden usually wins over logic.

I went around planting marigolds in the blank spots in the garden.
I have zinnias that are 5 feet tall!
I experimented with planting mammoth sunflowers in containers and packed. The results are small flowers.
I’m adding gerbera daisies inside bc they are supposed to help clean the air of toxins and hey, I can’t resist flowers usually. I found a grow light on sale and hoping the temp is perfect.
I looked at buying seeds but some want $45 for 100 seeds!! 😣 gonna hand pollinate and see if I’m successful
