What did you do in the garden today?

That means starting all over on my trees, asparagus, berries, grapes etc.... I guess the silver lining is that I can take my lessons learned and plan out a garden space a little more efficiently next time.
I don’t know if hiring a tree mover would be practical/possible but MIGardener had a couple videos recently on tree grafting:

If you can’t take the entire trees, maybe you could graft parts of them to establish at the new place?

Ripe Tomato Farms had something similar for raspberries:

Has for me on many plants.

Has for me on many plants.
I use the salt, 1 gal 30% vinegar and tabl sp Dawn around our bee hives when there's a good string of dry days. Starts turning weeds brn in an hour in bright sun, be careful 'cause it will kill your wanted grass and plants.

The chickens have discovered the cucumber plants after having ignored them the past two months. Drat - double drat, now I’ll have to put more fencing up. :barnieWILL IT EVER END?
I finally gave up and fenced in my entire garden to protect it from deer and chickens. Rabbits can get in, but they're just getting fattened up for me. LOL

My tarragon is now over 5 feet tall. I have put grow rings on it to control it's left and right spread, while still allowing air flow.
It would be 6 feet wide if not contained.

I pruned and fed the tomatoes. And fed and watered the potatoes.

The Chickies got their ID jewelry today. There is now much moping in the yard. You'd think I chewed their legs off. LOL

Sorry.
Going to rain in a bit... I need to go feed tomatoes before it does...

Picked a peach this morning. Still feels like it's early but everything is mostly red/yellow on the tree so I'm guessing they will be ready within a week. The other peach tree is a different variety and still has a long way to go.

Well, the verdict is in. DH and I are likely going to try to move in the next year or so... 😭 My ex-neighbor seems determined to build a subdivision behind my property. This will destroy our sense of seclusion. DH notified the city this morning though because dude has ZERO permits. He also has to go through zoning and planning... None of which he did. So we might have slowed down the inevitable for a short time but it will all happen eventually. If he was just putting ONE house back there, I wouldn't care. It's only 3 acres tops. But his greed is king and he wants to put in small lots to pinch out every cent he can get away... So we are going to move further out in the country somewhere. That means starting all over on my trees, asparagus, berries, grapes etc.... I guess the silver lining is that I can take my lessons learned and plan out a garden space a little more efficiently next time.

BUT look at it as a clean slate, try to anyway.
