What did you do in the garden today?

I am very happy I was too lazy to pull this weed I just realized it was a pepper. I’m not sure how it took so long for me to realize given that it is right in front of around 15 peppers 🤦‍♂️

I was shooting for a 6 to 6.5 primarily to accommodate beets and potatoes and found 7 actually a tad too neutral and realized that for what I normally plant I could handle an even slightly lower Ph than 6-6.5.
Just about everything will do well with a pH of 6-6.5. This was a good reference.

I don't get too worried about pH unless I see problems, or know that something is an outlier, like blueberries, that like really acidic soil.
I was forced to stop at Starbucks and they didn’t even have free used coffee grounds
I've stopped stopping at the local Starbucks. They said that they aren't collecting coffee grounds because "they are short staffed." That was a couple months ago, but I haven't bothered to go back.

I started getting into olive oil. I placed an order with amazon for a tin can of Partana brand/Asaro extra virgin olive oil from Sicily and a 3L tin of Atlas extra virgin olive oil from Morocco.

I found that soaking my salted/vinegar eggplant in plain boiling water off the stove until the water cooled made my salted/vinegar Sicilian eggplant more palatable. I also have been skipping the squeezing part and just use a colander. In addition, I put the olive oil on right before I eat them and store the semi cooked eggplant in the ice box. Furthermore, I have been adding a quarter cup of vinegar during the salting phase instead of the boiling stage.

I bought 2 of these from Amazon... One for olive oil and the other for avocado oil. You can use them as a sprayer or to pour your oil... They work awesome....

Mowed some. It is tough out there. Very humid early or hotter and humid later. Heat advisory and 94 predicted. Planted some purchased yellow hollyhock seed single and I have some yellow double sprouted. I like yellow but you seldom see them growing.
I don't think I've ever seen a yellow hollyhock. I have the typical colors and started a black one this year.
