Thank you. I thought so but damn it wasn't crowing and sounded like a hen. I'm thinking that all 3 roosters are going to freezer camp. I thank everyone for the help.

I had a bird that at 16 wks I thought was a ugly cockerel a couple years ago. But it wasn't causing any problem so I did some of the others first. Low and behold I found it in the nest box as she was laying an egg. Ugly bird was her name after that. She was a good layer. Last year a fox got her.

I have a Rhode Island Red cockerel that looks verrrrry similar to that one.

It actually rained late yesterday afternoon. We got nearly .5 inch. Happy Birthday to me.

I may have gotten overly paranoid; I hooked an old lemon bag under the biggest baby melon juuuuust in case. It’s still about walnut sized, but life keeps getting busy and this is one thing I can protect from in advance!

Picked about a pound of small cucumbers, cut some more vine ends off of the butternut squash and watered the squash while I was there.

It’s definitely not huge (1.5 lbs) but it is 3 times the size of the biggest tomato I’ve grown before it so I am really proud of it

It’s just from a random seed I took from a normal sized store bought tomato

Ragweed is starting to bloom. Cut some ragweed yesterday with lopping shears. Those stalks were about an inch thick at the base. Added them to the compost pile as there are no seeds. Mixed some potting mix with compost and added it to a mineral tub. Time to get ready to sow perennial and biennial flower seeds.
