I planted my peach tree in the Spring of 2018. It took 2 years to produce a few peaches, then the following year it started producing a lot. The year we got temperatures down to 15 below zero no peaches developed in all of Massachusetts. Fortunately I had enough peaches in the freezer to make jam that year. I only have one peach tree. It produces plenty for my needs.how old are your trees? I planted mine 2 years ago and got about 2 lb of small peaches. mine are early variety as this climate is suitable for them only. I planted more peach trees this year.
Oh yikes! Hope you feel better soon! It's absolutely beautiful outside today! High of 78 and sunny... Sadly, I will not get to enjoy it. Was cleaning the chicken coop yesterday and fell off a step stool. Landed on the chicken roost (landscaping timber) and severely injured my ribs, back, and hip. Thought I broke my back at first. Thankfully nothing is broken but badly bruised. Hard to move around right now and bending down is not happening.
Do you add caraway to your sauerkraut? It seems to be a 50/50 sort of thing.I cut the tops off of all my tomato plants to stress the plants into ripening the fruits. I'm going to hold back on watering them too. There are LOTS of green tomatoes out there, and more and more are starting to ripen.
But it's cooling off here. It was 49 degrees early this morning, and the high will be mid 70s. It's supposed to be like that for the next week or more.
I pruned lower leaves and suckers off the fall cucumber vines, watered cukes and the new planted brassicas and the butternut squash.
I transferred my latest batch of sauerkraut into pint jars and put them in the fridge, then I made dill pickles. And as an experiment I made a pint of dill green tomatoes from the small ones I accidentally cut off while pruning vines. I used the same cucumber brine for the tomatoes.

Ugh - this happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I hope you get better soon . Don't push yourself. I thought I was better and tried doing too much but found out real quick I wasn't as strong as I thought I was and went down for a couple more days.I had a few busy days then the night before last I came down with something. Fever and chills all night. I did a covid test, but it was negative. Yesterday was pretty much just doing bare minimum, drinking water and taking Tylenol. I started feeling better in the evening. I woke up feeling better today. I suspect a sinus or ear infection. I’m so far behind on processing the peaches. They’re all in the refrigerator but they need to be dealt with as quickly as possible. Also, Saturday into Sunday we finally were blessed with sky water. Two inches of it. However our neighbors in a town south of us got a small tornado. I feel fortunate. My zucchini is still growing. I’m restraining myself from excitedly tanking it off the vine. I have several yellow squash developing but not big enough to get too excited. It does appear that my beets and chard are surfacing. I’m feeling much better and will be tackling laundry, bread making and canning as many peaches as possible tomorrow. There’s just not enough room in my freezer for more frozen peaches.
So sorry for your loss @pennyJo1960.
