Our first frost is listed as October 15, but usually closer to Halloween. They say 4-6 weeks before frost, but I've always done it around the 1st and its worked out alright.

I always heard before ground freezes but after a frost.

I'm tearing down the green house beside the coop today(its a work in progress and won't be finished today) Yesterday I finished taking the window an door framing out and blocked off my driveway with 40 ft of fence. Trying to prevent any neighborhood dogs coming around and killing chickens.I've been lucky so far.
