What did you do in the garden today?

So I put a heater in the coop just to take the edge off for the chickens, really just to make myself feel better. Anyway, none of them huddled around it opting to just sit on the roosts fluffed up so I took the heater out and they continued to sit on the roosts all fluffed up. I guess the chickens taught me a lesson in their own way.

Yeah it's like they are wearing a down parka 😂

Finally had a chance to do a QUICK check on the baby bunnies. I expected there to be 6. I only saw 4 live ones in the tub. The other 2 could be buried underneath the cuddle puddle or maybe they died and mom already pulled them out. DH found a dead kit outside the tub on Friday... I'm pretty sure mom pulled that one out.

Anyway, supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow so I will check a little closer after I get home from work.

On a more problematic note, I realized today that part of my hoop house collapsed. It looks like the heavy weight of the snow and ice bent the cattle panel and caused it to slip off the support frame. So yeah, that sucks. Going to have to invest some time and money fixing it when the weather warms up.

I put a 2x4 down the center to help prevent that . Can see it partially, on the right
Usually I put them narrow side up. but I forgot in this coop until it was so tight I couldn't get it upright. So far its been ok.

Yeah, I did that in my duck/chicken hoop coop... (below)

But I built my garden hoop house several years earlier. I originally built it in a way that would allow me to disassemble it easily and move it around. Except that I never have... But there is a a 3 - 4 ft gap between the panel at the front and the one at the center. There is framing support in the middle and the end. The panel at the front rested on the door frame header and never needed any additional support. Even in the past when we've had more snow and ice than this last storm. Just weird that it collapsed.
