What did you do in the garden today?

With luck like that, is there a reason you don't just buy from a hatchery?
The hatcheries that ship to Hawaii don't sell standard white Cornish; I only see skinny standard dark Cornish at McMurray and none at Freedom Ranger. However, they both sell Cornish x.

I raised 2 dark Cornish roosters from McMurray before but ended up culling them because their body type pulls more toward fighting chickens.

I am still waiting for my poblano peppers to germinate. I have them in a glass Petri dish with moistened tissue. I planted them in potting mix outside on my first attempt, but it did not sprout. I got my seeds a few months ago. The wait is horrible, especially if they don't sprout.
I hope they germinate soon. It shouldn't take long where you live.

We got gully washer rain yesterday, and more rain today. There are ruts in our driveway that will require fixing. Unrelated, hubby had to return his new camera because there is a piece of dirt on an uncleanable surface that shows in every image.

To put it all in perspective, 4 people died in tornados in Michigan yesterday. We have no reason to complain.

We finally got measurable rain 1 3/4 or so. Thunderstorms are over. Windy, wet and chilly 60*. I put together a box from a deck board. Put cardboard down under it to suppress grass. 2' x 2' and added Potting mix. Going to sow Oriental poppy seeds. Permanent location. Poppies hate being moved or transplanted.

Daffodils are coming up. Doe rabbit had 4 kits. Her first. Bought bug netting for the garden. Our high of 60 this morning and falling all day.
Hope you love your bug netting as much as I do mine. For me its a game changer, keep the bugs out instead of fighting and spraying all the time. Doesn't stop the slugs and snails, but that's what the copper tape is for, lol.
