What did you do in the garden today?

Peppers are still coming up, still no sign of the ghosts yet.

Today 3 of the Sweetie Cherry tomatoes came up. Then a couple hours later, I saw 2 of the yellow cherry had sprouted as well.

They are in pots on a sprouting mat (warm) and were planted 6 days ago.

The seeds i started are up and doing well. So far germination is good! Our weather is quite the roller coaster lately.. snowed with crazy winds this morning and beautiful this afternoon. Sunday is a low of 9 projected and next week in the 80's.

Pear can be done fairly early. Wait until they wake up about bloom time. Collect dormant scions first. Keep them in the refrigerator wrapped in a moist paper towel in a sealed plastic bag until ready to use.

Couple dry days get to start the garden.

The pear tree is in the ground, staked and wrapped, and I dug some horseradish to process tomorrow.
82 today

Have you tried freeze drying horseradish? Would it retain its heat and flavor?

Did a grocery run and bought a grapevine. Going to pot it up. I have had poor luck planting these starts in the ground. Perhaps a summer in a pot will help. A little TLC.

So my pepper seeds actually started to sprout today, they certainly took their time…..too much time IMO. Also it is currently snowing which makes it a sad day. But tomorrow it will melt and all will be well and happy. Spent the morning….before this evil snow began….spreading manure and compost on the garden areas. Also hit the garlic with some blood meal.

I noticed some weeds or maybe Dames Rocket sprouting in the area I treated with preen. It does not prevent everything. Grass is turning green. Yet they predict snow Sunday.
