She has purple comb and swollen belly. And is making weird gasping sounds. We might have to put her down, so I’m just spending a lot of time with her.

Well this was a busy and annoying weekend. Saturday was all day kid stuff…baseball team pictures, baseball game, soccer games, in-laws…we finally had time to ourselves by 5 last night. Well then I checked on my bobtail eggs I got as an attempt to replace Taunus…and out of the 12 I got 2 that made it to lockdown and it was clear last night that one of the two probably wasn’t going to make it. :-( Sure enough this morning it was clear it had died.

We spent all day today taking down the Death Coop and putting together the new Farmhouse Coop. According to my FitBit I got 285 active mins and a sun burn…but it’s together and super nice! But now we are hot and tired and crabby

We also moved the Balls, Ariana Sushi, Brie, Parmesan and Pistachio to the big run so we can prep the area where the Cooplex will go once finished! Integrating them went pretty smoothly considering but getting them to bed sure was a chore hopefully they get it figured out!

And while we were building the coop, the one baby hatched…and I don’t think it’s a bobtail Bobtail breeders told me it’s super dark with the wrong color beak. And it has a lot of comb so it’s probably a boy to boot

So I’m beginning to think bobtails are not in my future! I have spent so much to give up now though!

So I’m now exhausted, cranky, and mad tomorrow is Monday @TropicalBabies now it’s my turn to be grumpy! Hope you all have a good night!

Almost sounds like reproductive, stuck egg/blockage symptoms. Have you tried any kind of treatments?

They were fascinated all day with the goings on

Yeah some weekends just seem to be full of annoyances! It’s fun but exhausting. The bobtail eggs were a huge bummer and I should have waited and gotten them from a trusted source. I’m mainly mad at myself! But also unhappy with the sellers responses. eBay is definitely a hit or miss endeavor. Blah…oh well, it is what it is. Baby is cute anyway!

There are other viruses/bugs going around here recently as well. I had one that put me in bed for 24 hours, then intestinal overactive which didn't clear up until 2 weeks later. Son had a bad URI that also gave him mild laryngitis. Missed 4 days of work.

Well, I pass on the grump award to you but just for a bit. With a new coop that gorgeous and that hard earned you won't keep it for long . Plus it is getting pre summerish here and so I will be needing it back soon... REAL soon I'm sure
Congratulations! Coop is big and beautiful and charming AND DONE and yours! and thank goodness the death coop is outta there. Job well done!!!
I'm sure Bobtails will find you. To quote Jeff Goldbloom in Jurassic Park. "Nature finds a way" and I am sure you are destined. You just had a rocky start. So, with getting your coop house in order, the mysterious illness hopefully gone forever you can at least have a clean slate.

I thought it sounded like ascites ☹ but now that you mention... I wonder if poster ** @Dot2dot can get ahold of some antibiotics? May help
