What did you do with your flock today?

Closed in the space between the coop and the shop wall today with rabbit hutch floor welded wire, 1/2 x 1. I still need to install the hardware cloth above the coop, maybe today. Maybe not. haha

Other pic shows how I closed in the gap at the bottom of the coop. Getting closer finishing the run. My chicks are getting bigger and pooping bigger and they need more space. They're handling being confined to the 4x8 coop just fine, since confinement is all they've known. They're not going to know what to do when they have an extra 100 square feet to run around in. LOL

Edited to add: I had the energy to finish closing in the space above the coop with hardware cloth. And I didn't rip my hands up cutting the HWC. A little trimming out tomorrow and that side of the run will be secure. The big, front wall is next. Should be easy, just time consuming.
Looking good! They're going to love it ❤️

Hi All :frow

I was gone all day and too tired to chicken, so my husband just went out to collect the eggs for me. I have 12 laying (since January) barnyard mix pullets, with one definitely broody and a couple more trying.

My husband just came in with a shell less egg AND a fairy egg!
Any idea who laid the shell less?

When I went out to gather the days eggs all was well with the RIR's. Got over to the Delaware palace and got yelled at by to grouchy pullets. They won't be a year old until mid September. They were hunkered down in the community style rollout box on the astro turf. Now how do those gals think they can go broody in that environment? One really swelled up and fussed like she was ready for war over that turf.

Beautiful booth! Let us know how the sells went and if you found any treasures to buy while there!
Thanks!! I feel like it turned out really well for a first timer :)

Sales were decent! I didn’t expect to be the hottest ticket, since my birds are more niche—but I sold all 14 of my chicks and 15 quail and all my quail hatching eggs and a dozen OD hatching eggs! Next year I’ll be more prepared and have some normal chicks and bantam Easter Eggers and bantam Ameraucanas. People want the pretty eggs 😆 I definitely got the most interest in the lavender chicks too, so my investment in the chicks I just hatched for myself will be good for next year sales 😍 I got lots of compliments on my booth and got some good ideas for ways to improve next year! It was really fun and they had so many things! Puppies, kittens, bunnies, birds, ostrich, goats, alpacas…kids loved it too!! 😁

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well, flocks thriving and all! Just wanted to show off my show off's, lol. Such pretty chickens to me

Looking forward to seeing you in a few @PopoMyers ! Pace yourself!! Don't overdo things with your event! Hope you are asking for help when needed.
Right @Gammas Bearded Babies ??!! 😉💕
Thank you! Heeded your advice, and it went very well, and I had a lot of great help. My legs and knees are the most tired.

Here's my sweet elderly friend and I.

Awe...how is she now? Any babies!?

My other daughter just had hers in a whirlwind of less than 24 hours and ALL naturale!!! I told my other daughter that just had her girl 3 weeks ago that we'll never hear the end of it - she had hers all natural! Lolol
Both mom n baby girl r doing well and waiting on the blood test to come.back on baby cuz daughter did have the GBS and wasn't at hospital in time for them to get the antibiotics in her before baby was born.
So please pray she is negative and no ill effects!
I just got home from seeing her and she already looks totally different from her 1:15pm pic lol!
Congratulations! Prayers for baby.

Been busy with work and kid stuff this week and all the hatching babies for the Expo! I have 25 quail and 24 chicks so far with about 12 more to hatch and 35 more quail! Sooo many teensy weensy quail (in the box so I could count them!) 😍

One of the eggs that hatched today is one I planned to keep—as it’s a bunch of lavender cuckoo d’Anver eggs…but it hatched out all weird colored and then I noticed it had feathered legs 😆 Looks like some may hatch out d’Uccles instead of d’Anvers on accident 😳😁

I did get time today to enjoy my morning coffee with them and give them some treats :) They’re all so cute 🥰 Elinor, Coco—two of my Orpingtons and my Ameraucana Amy, are all sharing a nest box being broody…so funny listening to them growl 😆

And Aria took Nohope for a walk tonight and he actually tried a couple times to walk with his legs on his own 🥰 Wore him out though so he’s sleeping now, but seeing his legs moving one in front of the other was a bit hopeful—so perhaps not completely No hope! 🥰

And lastly, I visited my bantam babies…and Butters decided I needed grooming 😍

Hard to believe Nohope is still hanging in there, probably because of your TLC. Oh, the precious beeebies! @TropicalBabies can you stand it? Looks like your close to being ready for Expo. Butters is a cutie, preening you.

So... This seems like a great way to say hi to everyone...

I treated bumble foot on a hen and un-tongue tied a pullet today.

First time for the bumble foot. Second time for the tongue problem, but it was more difficult this time around.

I'm exhausted, but satisfied. How are you all?
What is tongue tied, and how do you treat it?
