I'm just not sure where you find the time to paint your nailsI didnāt even mention my other issue. Iām 100% positive it caused the crossed beak.. I had one chick that did hatch that I thought didnāt have cross beak and I noticed when moving them to the bigger brooder does. I didnāt pick them up much to check on them because I thought they were doing great. All growing and already feathering. And none had any indication of cross beak when I moved them from the incubator. But only one developed cross break after hatch. Developing great so far so Iām not gonna cull it. If I notice any problems that it might be causing it pain or I notice that it isnāt thriving I may put it out of its misery. Iām just not sure how to deal with this yet. I have made the food mushy though it has been eating great without doing that. Iām just so mad right now with myself and the stupid incubator.
On a lighter note, I have my first Pavlovskaya with a hair do. My 2 girls donāt have it but the boy does. I just love the look of this little one.
Donāt mind the light, it is making taking the pictures hard but I have it so the turkeys can see the food and water better since the light will reflect off the marbles. Btw, yes you can have fluffy cute small little ducks! Enjoy life!!!![]()
O that sounds wonderful! Sounds like a fun time for everyone and good salesThanks!! I feel like it turned out really well for a first timer
Sales were decent! I didnāt expect to be the hottest ticket, since my birds are more nicheābut I sold all 14 of my chicks and 15 quail and all my quail hatching eggs and a dozen OD hatching eggs! Next year Iāll be more prepared and have some normal chicks and bantam Easter Eggers and bantam Ameraucanas. People want the pretty eggsI definitely got the most interest in the lavender chicks too, so my investment in the chicks I just hatched for myself will be good for next year sales
I got lots of compliments on my booth and got some good ideas for ways to improve next year! It was really fun and they had so many things! Puppies, kittens, bunnies, birds, ostrich, goats, alpacasā¦kids loved it too!!

Love the smiles and that red outfit is so pretty!Thank you! Heeded your advice, and it went very well, and I had a lot of great help. My legs and knees are the most tired. View attachment 3495726Here's my sweet elderly friend and I.
So much natural beauty thereI spent most of the day up the mountain deep cleaning. Dropped off materials I needed and will head back up via motorcycle to do some more today.

Feral crowd come when they hear me as i feed them still. The chick is a beautiful pullet but very shy. I will try to get a better photo today. I am proud of her for surviving, especially being the lowest in the pecking order and the last to eat if at all. Def bringing up some gamecock feed with cat kibbles for them.
Have a terrific day all!
That black and white poult is so prettyI have gotten 8 more chicks outside to transition with the flock. The first 6 are doing great out there. I really would have loved to do all the ones left in the brooder but that is too many to do at once. I am using a pet carrier to introduce and it will only hold so many little ones. I would love to use the dog kennel I have in the coop but I have the broody babies and mommas in there.
I ended up hatching only 2 ducklings and 2 turkeys. The humidity would not stay up, no matter what I did. A lot of the babies became shrink wrapped and didnāt make it. I didnāt check this with them because I knew I was having a hard time keeping the humidity up and didnāt want to open it.I wish I had hatched more turkeys but I do have 3 more coming in June. The ducklings Iām so sad about too but I do have 15 that are doing great and then one of my daughters teachers is hatching 5 (as of last I checked that was the number left). And then I have a duck hen setting on 9 eggs. And I checked a few days ago and all 9 are doing fantastic.
We went and got a shed to use for a coop, so I will be able to separate some of my specialty chicken breeds. I have to really clean it though cause the people we got it from used it for their chickens. But to just have to put fencing around the area itās in wonāt take long.
Congrats on a nice hatch!Had a busy day with 9 chicks that hatched Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The last one to hatch struggled to get out. And she is a bit behind. The mammaās (I had 3 mamaās on 11 hatching eggs) are out and about today. The last one to hatch (Junior) is not strong and smart enough to catch up. She is left alone and starts to peep (getting cold probably).
I took her out the coop a couple of times to keep her warm in a kind of kangaroo-bag against my body.
The others only need feed and cleaning up. The mamas do the rest.
