What did you do with your flock today?

Oh! You have an existing flock? Chickens B4? That makes your order pretty exciting, pray tell... what did you order? :D
We don't have any chickens currently, but I had a flock about 10 years ago! We have chicks coming at the end of the month (my children's first flock)...1 Golden Laced Wyandotte, 1 Delaware, 3 Easter Eggers, 5 "assorted rare breeds", and 5 "production Pack" chicks coming from Meyer. My son is hoping for a Barred Rock in the assortment, lol. My daughter wants Easter Eggers, she's 6 so blue/green eggs sound super exciting to her!

I think the run ended up right around 200 sqft (it's 11'x10' on the half closer to the building and the farther end tapers to 8'x10', so overall 20' long, but 3' shorter on one "short" wall compared to the other, plenty of room for 15 hens. The old run was 12'x15' and looks SO much smaller now that this monster run is framed up! Hubby has "security" cameras going up inside and outside the coop and run (he's laying fiber optic cable to run them on a secure network that we can access from our computers and/or phones) as well...he's a Network Engineer, so techy stuff is where his true passions lie, lol. I'm a "farm girl" stuck in the city...but I do enjoy the conveniences that come with not living 30+ minutes from the nearest fast food place, lol.

I currently have 22lbs of sleeping chickens on my lap. :th I can’t get a good picture without disturbing them. So far they haven’t bitten each other, but I expect that won’t last long, lol.
I can totally dig that! Nothing like 22lbs of love to get you to stop and take a moment to enjoy. Awesomeness!
Look forward to them when you can!

Great choice, great qty. so much better than getting a few here and there, just go big lol.
K. my bet is you honey is going to be in there much more than he thinks he is. Sounds like he will share your hobby which is totally fun. I enjoy my hobby more when my DH stops and chats or says a kind word to them. My DH's friends stopping by and admiring or getting our extra eggs kicked it in gear for him. They bloomed into something beside the bottomless pit of $$$ and efforts.

I got a pic of Puff Puff and Iris snuggling. Iris looks so small when he’s on the perch. XD

Beautiful duo! :loveand on the cleanest perch I have ever seen including mine after just being installed. Inspiring! Makes me want to run out and scrub my coops except.... I have my 1st vac appointment today!!! So close to "normal" I can almost taste it, except... of course....they have opened my island up for visitors in a relaxed way IMO yesterday and Oahu/our state has been red for a few weeks.🌴 :barnieWill we ever learn? Feels like insanity, or tripping over the finish line. I hope not. :fl :fl :fl :fl :fl
Well, stay good folks!
