Probably. Not a fan of turkey. Big fan of chicken and dumplings.

Speaking of which... it's time to figure out the TG menu. I am going to pardon the turkey too. Salmon and spiral ham plus some fixings. I'll do the cooking and bring the food to AJs house. May have a small crowd.

Brought my DS his clean laundry and some chicken feed up the mountain. My chickens were so beautiful that I took some photos of them. Does not due justice.

Cleaned coops, gathered eggs, watering lawn and mailed off paperwork for new bike.
It's hard for me to be patient

Salmon....yum! The whole house here is sick right now, but luckily me and DH came down first and are starting to feel better. Bit of a flu bug I think but hopefully everyone's back in shape by thanksgiving .
No turkey reprieve here! Hubby's a big one for traditions so doubt we'll ever have a thanksgiving without one of those big birds. Though he briefly talked of goose for Turkey Day and lately he's talking whole roasted pig . Somehow I doubt my spider rescuing hubby will ever manage that though.

I think it could be possible but very risky without knowing exactly where that foot is placed and if there's any organ/arterial involvement. Little Hop needs an x-ray to be certain.
As it's so unusual , would a veterinary college be interested in taking a look and seeing if it can be freed?

O that's a good idea! We do have a local vet college at the UoA. He's bantam teeny tiny. I can't imagine being able to sedate him, and by the time he's got any size to him, I'm guessing that leg will be permanently changed.

My DH nearly had a heart attack yesterday. He caught me browsing a hatchery catalogue which had 'somehow' found it's way to me...
He was relieved beyond belief when I explained it was a U.S. based company and therefore wouldn't be able to ship to the U.K.

It's probably a good thing or we'd be overrun with littles. I'm sure envious of you being able to just order the breeds you want. Here, you either buy hatching eggs if there's a specific breed you want or travel the length of the country to collect them.

I'd be in agonies of impatience and excitement if I were you.

No live chick shipments in the UK? If so, is it a ban on all live animal shipping? That's kinda wonderful. I've always ordered chicks over eggs, but there's been a couple times it's been heartbreaking.

Editing to add that it's almost always a good experience! The hatcheries do get shipments done perfectly most of the time!

We have a kid down a few houses away. 2nd stomach bug in 3 weeks.

I found simplifying the meal made the day more enjoyable. No one really likes turkey except for my chickens anyways... usually still warm weather on TG day and a big hot meal seems forced.
Roasted pig on a spit does sound good... guess somebody had better behave
