Been super busy lately so not a lot of time to catch up on all the posts yet! Did I mention I got some more chickens? I have a problem

But to be fair, they’re a breed I Am specifically attempting to breed and show, and it was three hens!
I also decided to get serious and buy some conditioning/breeding cages for next Spring plans and the shows happening from now thru March. Traveled for work too, and catching up on missed work, running kids to soccer and band and 4-H. Next weekend is our first show since May and I will be doing chicken baths and prep between now and Thursday, the 30th. I’m excited to go and also see how some of the new kids (chickens) do showing. Some of my d’Anvers are looking quite lovely!

Today was also organic greens day! A nice array of collard greens, chard, rainbow chard, dandelion greens, green and red kale, spinach, cilantro, green apples, herbs, brewers yeast, Omegas 3/6 and Vitamin E, and leftover veggies from Chinese take out!

I also sat with the big run chickens and checked on the molters. Charlie and Mocha are looking a bit rough!

And last, I brought in one of the young teen chickens that I let Duchess and Daisy hatch so I could look for saddle feathers. I was sure I got 3 boys from the three that hatched and when looking at this one today it struck me that at 10 weeks it should have bigger wattles. Dug around and couldn’t find a single saddle feather! Crazy! She’s rather shy and hard to catch but then sits with you very calmly

She’s half bantam Wyandotte (white with barring), half Black marans.
