What did you do with your flock today?

Oh! They are just too adorable 😍 😍😍😍😍
I bet you bless the day you decided to help them.
I have a real soft spot for calico. My first cat was a stray calico with tabby stripes - what we call "tortie-tabby" over here.

I am hopeless with humidity! I prefer dry heat too so Thailand wasn't the best choice in that respect.

You'd think with all the canals, Venice would be as bad but the breeze from the Adriatic helps so much. I adore Venice, it's just so beautiful.
Closet I've ever been to Venice is some casino in Vegas...🤣😂🤣

That must've been a wonderful trip!

Question. When you give your chickens grapes, do you cut them up? I have some small grapes, maybe 1/2" diameter. Are they small enough as is?
I usually buy 1" grapes. I cut them lengthwise twice (4 pieces), then three times widthwise. It makes twelve pieces per grape. I throw a handful of the bits and watch the stampede!

It was absolutely amazing! The architecture is so beautiful, the food is great and the people are friendly. We did a bit of island hopping - Murano, Burano, Lido and Torcello - too. If we can get pet sitters, were planning on going to Florence in September.

I'd happily do a casino in Vegas too! I'd probably come back bankrupt however 🤣

It depends. I have to cut them in half for Princess Gladys (my biggest hen). The other girls and Stan prefer them cut in half or quarters lengthways but I've seen them all scarf grapes down whole. In fact, I once saw Pru swallow a grape I swear was the size of her head! Took her a while, but she managed eventually 🤣
I have to cut them into sixths for Ferdy as he doesn't do bigger pieces of anything since his choking incident.

Last night before it was dark I went out a little earlier than usual for a coop check. The hens were up on the roost...except Martha, back in a nesting box, acting broody. Nope, not happening. So up on the roost she went.

The juvies were running around, making lots of noise. When they tried to roost with the hens they were blocked. So eventually they noisily, and with much ado over nothing, fluttered up onto the A-frame.

The top is at eye level and they continued to bluster and fluster but started to settle down as I stood next to them, and calmly told them what handsome boys they were.

Zacchaeus was pushed into the back as you can see by the photo. He'll have the last laugh, although I anticipate him being a little lonely at first. The other four cockerels are going to auction on Saturday.

Rahab abandoned the brooder, has taken her bunch into a nesting box two nights in a row.

Tamar wasn't using her box, but still is using her brooder.
