Chandeliers would be pretty "extra" but might just be super awesomeHaha, you can have practical that looks pretty. As long as chickens do not have a chandelier in their coop.. think most designs are practical![]()

Don't forget each nesting box would be more like a boudoir, lol. Could always build one yourself. Probably cheaper in the long run and can be as custom as you want it.Chandeliers would be pretty "extra" but might just be super awesome. I also want all the things...I was looking at the Carolina Coops and kept coming up with ones that cost upwards of $20k before I knew it haha. OUCH. My husband would not be on board hahaha. They look sooo amazing though!
Hahaha wouldn't that just be amazing?? Maybe some velvet curtains?Don't forget each nesting box would be more like a boudoir, lol. Could always build one yourself. Probably cheaper in the long run and can be as custom as you want it.
Yes!Hahaha wouldn't that just be amazing?? Maybe some velvet curtains?
Yeah, no doubt...I may just start making my dream coop design so I can hire a contractor to build it for me some day! I would LOVE to have things built to make life easy...and I love the idea of rain barrel water sources too. I want to retire to the Western Oregon mountains, so I'm sure water will be easy to collect haha. Goats will be my weed eaters and the cows will be my lawn mowers!![]()
Yeah, I have loved the Oregon Coast area my whole life and know I would find a lot of joy and peace there. My husband's job requires that I live in this hot ugly valley in CA, so he promised I can live where I want when we retire.Yes!
There are all sorts of cool water collecting ideas. Oregon is a nice place. What breed of goats were you thinking?
Very nice!Yeah, I have loved the Oregon Coast area my whole life and know I would find a lot of joy and peace there. My husband's job requires that I live in this hot ugly valley in CA, so he promised I can live where I want when we retire.Just have to be close enough to an airport so he can fly down to see his Cal Bears play football in Fall.
Probably just pygmy goats! We won't likely be able to afford a huge property, so I want to make sure we can afford the goats and mini cows that we have space to accommodate. I will probably still focus most of my energy on chickens...I would love to get involved in true Ameraucana breeding, they have definitely risen to the top as my most favorite breed. Love their fluffy faces and friendly and active personalities. I think they'd do well in the cooler and wetter climate and would enjoy little goat friends haha. Also want to have a rooster rescue, so might need a bachelor pad coop too!![]()
Oh my!! I thought I had bad luck with my straight run purchases haha. At least none of them were sold as pullets! Sheesh! I have had to rehome 8 boys and I hated it! I wish I could have a bachelor pad now!Very nice!
Gotta love pygmys. Do you plan on milking them? My favorite chicken breed is Seramas.. even though I have a mixed flock. I plan on breeding my Seramas this year. Quick story: So my mom buys 14 chicks at the local feed store. 6 of them were pullets and the rest straight run. Turned out 9/14 were roosters! Those 6 pullets... only 3 were hens. So my folks built an entire separate coop just for the roosters. All of them are mean... my mom did not have the heart to make chicken and dumplings out of them. Not all roosters are mean and some get along well with each other. I have 2 myself and they get along well.
I know! Poor mom. My luck wasn't even better. 4 eggs hatched last year.. I only got 1 hen. So, kept one rooster and the other 2 became dinner. Small birds are so much fun! I Bought my Seramas for my hubby's birthday last year.. though I spend the most time with them. Though yesterday he was snuggling with all of them.Oh my!! I thought I had bad luck with my straight run purchases haha. At least none of them were sold as pullets! Sheesh! I have had to rehome 8 boys and I hated it! I wish I could have a bachelor pad now!
Seramas are just adorable little birds! I have found a growing love for tiny chickens…so I might just consider breeding a small chicken too! Everyone does silkies, so I might do d’Uccles or Olandsk Dwarfs! I like the idea of working on a landrace breed too.
It is nice here.. above freezing. I checked on my banty this morning and her feet look good besides that missing nail. Nothing is amiss with her walk, attitude or eating/drinking habits.Morning how are all doing this fine morning ? We had rain in the night sun is out 46 now not activley raining.
