What did you do with your flock today?

I had the one dog get in bought 4 rolls of field fence that day but when they did not aproach me with a sorry or kiss my butt .. I went to their house knocked on the door .. She opened the door announced the dog had been put to sleep .. Not a can you pay for the birds or anything.
We killed the dog! Yes still burned about lost 3 total ..

He is a blue Marans 4 years old he is very nice rooster to his girls will also sit next to me when I fill their water buckets. Not long ago I fell one night in there he came off the roost to sit by me Like "can you get up" ?

Well, it almost happened...
I kept my flock in their run until about 3:30-4 when I went out to do some more yard work. So I let them out as I knew my work would attract them and I was going to be close to their favorite spot. Well, neighbor pup ran straight threw my flock and tried to grab anyone he could get. Spider sounded the alarm, I had a rock in my hand as I am rebuilding a crumbling wall and well, pup got hit in the butt on his way out. Lucky me it was a small rock and I was able to hit him. Usherd the flock in the run, did a head count, took a few breaths and went and had a chat... again .
I kept my cool but almost wish I did not. He did say they were leaving tomorrow but honestly. I have both my pellet guns loaded and hope I get a shot in tonight. I have really kind of had it. He said he let his dog out to go potty.... hasn't he ever heard of a leash or what?! Ugh! Ok rant over. If his dog had carried off one of my girls or spider I don't know how this would have ended. But, probably not good. K. Rant not over lol. I walked home and grabbed my shovel so I could pick up dog poop off our grass. I'm sure byc'ers feel my pain right now lol
I think I need a duck.

Wow...that's awful. I'd be furious even if no chickens were lost. Too close a call. Glad you have good aim though! I highly approve of the pellet guns...if the owners won't control or teach the puppy then someone has to. I'm just sorry your stuck with the job. Fingers crossed your feathered babies and your kitties all make it through safely. Hoping they do move on tomorrow as well...and that the baby is well cared for, and and...ugh. This is when my kids would say people suck.

I was thinking the same thing! Im so cynical That is why I waited and took some deep breaths. I can be brutal and say things I regret. Honestly, I did not want these people to steal any more of my joy any fricken more than they already had. I've just been waiting for that crap with their dogs... glad I was right there. stupid people.
I'm totally into peace, love and granola but don't want to pay so they can keep their head in the clouds. Too much. Aloha hippees.

I've had three times where loose dogs tried to attack me while I was walking with one of my kids...one of those times she was a baby in an umbrella stroller and it scared the bleep outta me. Another time I had my just outta diapers youngest on our little horse ChooChi and someone's dog ran up and bit Choo on the butt. I about had a heart attack from fear. Loose dogs are no joke sometimes.

Not the bad dog incidents though. I have never had a problem like you have. That is really scary. I'm pretty sure dogs know I would kill them with my bare hands and eat their livers if they ever messed with me lol. Cept I'm not really kidding... I'd make like penny.

This dog is a pup who is not bad but he needs training. The hippies probably don't want to alter his true dog state by giving him boundaries.... or any type of guidance or training. Might upset some flow.

There's been times where I wish I could! With my aim though I'd probably miss and get one of my own chickens instead I tried my best to eat their livers though!

@PJ your flocks looks so fresh. All that summer sunshine just seems to work for them. But I'm with you on naps. I finally just gave in and realized afternoon naps are so much better than suffering through the heat. Go get em girl.

Just not sure what you do after that.... probably set up a brooder like you did.

I think you are soooooo right my friend. I do have a problem. Now just to find a 12 step program to get myself straight, lol. I think I am beyond hope. Driving a school bus makes me already crazy, but that's a job requirement, lol. I don't think there is any hope for me. Carrying water to them this winter and slipping on the ice may wake me up since I have a dozen now instead of only 9 like last winter. lol

Oh, that's right... you drive kids.. or they drive you ♡♡♡ I think you get a hall pass for your good service. Yikes, but that ice! I forgot about those things and oh how I don't envy you that sounds brutal. I do hope you never slip again. So dangerous!
