What did you do with your flock today?

I just love when they all run to you when you go out to greet them. Mine start squawking and carrying on and run from all directions towards me and yelling at me for treats hahaha. I love it, they are all so cute!
Oh same here!! And if I don’t have a treat, I seriously don’t hear the end of it. 😂 I have a French Black Maran and I love her all together but when she runs it is the funniest. She looks like she has bell bottoms on! I love it! So she has been given the name Bell.

That is such a neat story about your Grandpa! My picture is in the glass case of trophies at my high school with my varsity volleyball team...it would be super fun to go back when I am a Grandma and see it still there to show my grandkids!
Oh yeah! I wasn’t lucky enough to have my picture anywhere besides on the class photo but I’m sure it’s gone now. Our school isn’t very big and they move one class out every year to make room for new. At one point they put it in the old high school but I believe they don’t do that anymore. I sent an email to the superintendent of the school to see what I can do about getting a copy. My mom has his senior picture but that is it. I think it would be cool to give her a picture of his class. My husband got a better picture than I did. But he is also taller than me 😂

I would totally cry if one of my old loved plants died while in someone else's care! I gifted my most favorite Ficus to my sister and after she died her husband neglected it and it died and I cried....both for the ficus and the reason it died. :( I hope your husband tries hard for you!!

I'm so glad Schultz is getting his groove back! Even if just a little bit! Fluff crowed once yesterday inside the coop and it gave me some hope too...I'm hoping some time with nice chickens helps him regain his confidence--he's also molting so I'm sure he doesn't feel even close to 100%. He came out the other day before I closed him up and he tried flying to me so he could avoid being on the ground and chased by Emilio and he got stuck in the bird netting and knocked my coffee on the ground and scared all the chickens. When he finally got to me, he laid his head on my shoulder and just slept. Sweet boy feels all out of sorts and clearly feels safe with me--he's been this way since he was little. Anytime he was scared he would come hide on my shoulder.

Your daughter sounds like Aria :) I am sure one of these days she will have her own birds and they will all be roosters haha. It really is the best seeing them loving on animals. <3
Huge hugs on your sister ❤❤❤! Losing family is always the hardest.

Fluff sounds so adorable! I don't get birds that are that level of affectionate...my kids do, but mine like me not love me. I'm more like a favorite toy, treat dispenser, perch, friend etc rather then a trusted mom. I really love watching the kids with their special birds though. It really is beautiful ❤.

Molly's poor face is still getting worse. : ( she's been on daily Benadryl for a few days now, but so far there hasn't been any improvement.
I still have no idea what it could be. Everyone else is still symptom-free, so I don't think it's contagious, but if the Benadryl doesn't work then I don't know what to do next. Aside from getting more feathers stuck to her face than normal I don't think it's bothering her too much, but I really hate not being able to help her. : ( Today is only day 4 of Benadryl, so I guess we'll see how she is after a full week. :/

On more disappointing news, Egg molted away his yellow spots. 😭 Now he looks so plain. He's not nice enough to look so boring. How's he supposed to be Egg if he doesn't look like one? : (

BUT! Speaking of eggs, Frito laid her first one last week. It was so small! I'm very proud of her. : D

Hers is on the Left, Bert’s is on the right. : )

@grammasBB how fun to be enjoying family. How are you feeling lately? Not overdoing it I hope. How long until a complete heal?
Oh I'm all good! Back to my usual self lol. Bout to have my post-op Telehealth lol.
. I have another order for chicks so some of the 27 eggs are pre homed.
Oh! I tried so hard to talk my DH into another hatch and he held strong this time...nope not til after first of the year.
Schultz crowed this morning! His first crow since he got sick. His tails still very much to the side and he's still not perching to sleep though. But I was happy to hear him crow. None of my Yokos actually crow a lot, so it's doesn't mean as much as with most chickens...but none the less, it's good.
Oh such good news for Schultz!!!
Millie is much more well behaved, but mainly because she prefers to be looked at and not touched. I just love watching her run around though...with those big flipper-like feet! :D
Yeah she sounds just like my Gabby! Look but don't touch, gorgeous porcelain duccle! They all three run across the brooder in the run like that and sounds like a stampede LOL! I luv em!

Poor Molly...I'll keep my fingers crossed🤞.

Wow that Egg! I've never seen yellow on a pigeon! And that's like canary yellow! Amazing❤. It really is a pity he lost most of it...but I think I see just a little still there? Are you going to keep him to breed? Itll be exciting if he throws yellow in his babies and it sticks past the molt! Hes beautiful ❤❤❤

Fritos new egg is cute too😍

Thank you!! I don't think the yellow was natural, so I guess it was only a matter of time before he lost it all. : ( He was brought into the HS (where I rescued him) after crashing headfirst into a window, so I'm assuming the yellow was some sort of medication stain? I was joking with my mom that I'll either need to repaint him or change his name to Egg Whites, lol.
I actually do have some of his children! Frito and Big Bird are both his. I expected them to both be pretty light, but they're really dark gray.

🤣 I was so excited over here!
What a pity it wasn't natural and how lucky for him you rescued him. He's still a beautiful boy ❤️! O my gosh Frito and Big Bird look fun...did you hand raise them or just spend a lot of time with them as babies?

Sorry to disappoint. XD
Thanks! Egg and Bert did all of the raising, but I made sure to spend a lot of time with them as they grew up. They're my first non-rescued pigeons, so I had no idea just how sweet they could be! Everyone else is still a little nervous around me (understandable, I've had them for less than a year), but these two hang out on my shoulder and preen my hair whenever I'm in there. <3
