What did you do with your flock today?

With you all posting about coffee, the Keurig ad showed up on the feed😂. I have an automatic espresso machine, DH likes drip brew, and the occasional mocha. It's cheaper than going to the local stand to buy one every morning. @TropicalBabies , have you tried iced coffee? That was my drink in hot Texas. Anyhow, one 15 wk. old cockerel named Earl started up his crowing on Friday. They sound like a muffled trumpet at first. Don't think the other guy is trying yet, same age, different mama. Got my hog rings and pliers to join the fence panels together, as DH used 36" x 2 tall for the enclosure. He did get one gate made, one more to go. Had our first frost.
I'm enjoying some coffee as we speak! It was 38 this morning and the warm coffee tastes so lovely!

The antibiotics I'm taking must be helping. I woke at 3am and feel more like myself then I have in a few days. I have my thigh too wrapped up to see what it even looks like now and the tight wrap is helping too. Yay for progress.
Yay for the antibiotics!! That is great news!! Also, I am excited for you that you got new ODs! My ladies are all done laying for the year which is fine, we were drowning in eggs anyway.

That is terrific news. :hugs:jumpy I hope today is a good one and so on and so on ♡♡♡ Enjoy!
I just wanted to use this reply to tell you that your new signs and all your awesome bags selling well make me super happy! Your signs are great, your bags are awesome, and their success is even better!! Just don't get too stressed out making them now :D

Well since I lost baby #18 to pasty butt, I am on the search for a baby chick to be friends with baby #13 so she's not lonely! I messaged a lady that posted pics of 5 day old mille fluer bantam cochins...I just realllllllly didn't want another straight run chick. :( I was okay with one of my show quality d'Anvers being a boy, but a random chick...not so much! Especially since Ariana Sushi is all the sudden looking very boyish and is ALSO a bantam cochin. UGH. Anywho...at least they would be a fun color you don't see often!

Well I hope you find #13 a buddy. I get not wanting another boy but the other better half of that is it could also still be a girl. 🤞 I think it would be cool to have one with colors you don’t see often! I have decided I want some of the Candy Corn colored chickens….

Yeah, Samsung, ugh. We have one and it's the ice maker/dispenser that I have to defrost almost monthly. It does make ice when it's working. I have half a mind to just turn it off, remove the drawer, and use it as a wine bottle chiller.😂🤙. And then turn the drawer ice maker back on, but I have to fix the stopping lever first. :he

Pick the chick that does not run up to you, the little shy petite one who stays to the back or hides under the others. Even as chicks the boys are more gregarious. Look for smaller legs and the least orange on the legs as possible. I think that may increase your girl chances ♡ lol

Yeah, the guy who fixed it a few years ago basicly said it was fixed for awhile. It is a shame cuz I do like the fridge.
Costco has some rockin' countertop ice makers. Or we could just buy a bag of ice every so often... but so far we just toss our water canteens in the fridge and all is good. Turning off our ice maker turned off our water dispenser... I turned it back on and walked away. We are just used to no ice... till next fridge i guess.

Well, here in the land of no ice and too many chickens (crap, I said it out loud again!) We are rolling in eggs and slightly cooler temperatures. Nice.
Basic scrape, water and rake chores planned today.
I did have a young pullet looking a little down and squinting the other day. When doing her check I noticed she had 1 sticktight flea. 🤔 so... they are back. Gave her a look over and spray with some eye drops and all was well in a day. Yesterday I noticed one of my little littles a bit further behind than the others. I dosed her with corid but then noticed about 7 sticktight fleas on her! Ugh! So Vaseline and spray her too and she is out running around perfect today. I am amazed at how nasty these sticktight fleas are. They really seem to get my birds sick. Don't like them at all :mad::mad::mad:

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better!
