Yeah, maybe. It couldn’t hurt to try what you did. Did you notice any improvement before the 2 weeks?Could she have a skin issue? I bought a Brahma rescue, and she came with swollen skin, on her face, neck, irritated looking legs. No mites, so I made a salve with coconut oil, and some essential oils, frankincense, lavender, tea tree. With daily application she responded well and improved quickly over less than 2 weeks. She was also molting at the time.
Yeah, that might be a good idea. I PM’d a few people who frequent the E/D/M&C forum back when I first noticed it happening, but no luck.@FrankieDoodle
I poked around a bit but found basically nothing too. My first thought on your beautiful girl was age. I wonder if you could start a thread in emergencies and get some answers from the very smart regulars that hang there.
Then tag us as I am real curious about this one. In all your spare time that is lol.. I think my Buffs are more fragile than my other chooks. I hope she is ok ♡♡♡
Yes, it looks like it’s her entire body. Head, comb, wattles, face, feet and legs. I assume it’s the same under her feathers, but she’s really fluffy so it’s hard to tell.Is the swelling both sides of her face, FrankieDoodle?
Thanks!I can just picture the sun making rainbows through that glass as you shower! My youngest tried to make an aurora with colored bottles when she was little...she got so mad at me for trying to explain that she couldn't throw the light into an empty night sky! So I shut up and just helped her try. Its a fun memory
Wow what a change! I had thought she was like the white faced Spanish who's face skin seems to swell and thicken as they age. No ideas here but I like @TropicalBabies suggestion. There's so many knowledgeable people on here who might have good ideas about it. Hope she does well Frankie
I've always wanted cream legbars. Someday maybe.
So that'd be the white leghorn or white rock genes carrying the recessive white right?
That's so duck
Aaaaa! Squishy tubs of baby lard! Give them and momma little hugs and scritches for me![]()
I don’t think so, I haven’t noticed any of the common symptoms in her or anyone else in the flock.Could it be botulism?
I wonder if it could be some sort of allergy/reaction to something she’s eating. Although I don’t know how to narrow that down without completely separating her and changing her diet, and I don’t want to stress her out so that’s not really doable.
I did see her eating and then later bathing, so that’s really good. A few days ago I had to help her of the perches and she spent the day in the nest, so while all of her symptoms are still there, that’s still an improvement.
