As always, to die forHappy Aloha Saturday all.
Been a bit busy here with people things- dropped another stand w/bags and then we had to deal with our fence posts- but the eve b4 last I was able to spend about 15 very enjoyable minutes feeding the littles fun, delicious mealworms.
Last eve after the evening feeding of the horses DH and I rode Boo & Bee to the Kawai'ele water bird sanctuary a few miles down the road. What a great form of meditation after a hard day's work dealing with fence posts.
In the eves many birds fly in to safely rest for the night

My photos are pretty junk but if you look (hard) you can see 3 flying kukuluae'o, 6 young nene geese and the shadowy figures of 2 ope'ape'a bats and their reflection on the water. We also got to enjoy 2 other notable waterfowl like the aukuu and the ulili. The thick silence of the Mana plains only to be broken by these wild sounding birds. Pretty awesome.
A couple more posts to go at the pasture. The ground termites have eaten through just about everything we have installed so far. Hoping this Kiawe wood will dull their chompers.
Also, rodeo this weekend! So gal should be coming for her cockerels!!!
That means I would have sold all 6 and raised $60 more bucks for the KHS!!!![]()
O that poor baby! I'm so glad he had you to help. Eating must have been hard for Picasso and sounds like you were his lifeline.I cried and cried until I didnt have anymore tears to cry.
I had to say godbye to my little buddy Picasso.
He brought me so much happiness.
This one is gonna be tough to heal from.

He kept me company everyday and I loved him.
Poor Coco! Bet he tries again even knowing the consequencesI have had the longest yet shortest week ever...I don't know if I'm coming or going!
I sat down Wednesday with my dear friend that does my hair each week cuz I can't and went to put on my seat belt! We both died laughin!!!
Finally got a moment with no mother and no grandbabies...went down to sit with my babies for few only to see the wind blowing insanely through the area I never finished wrapping! So just got that done with the last shower curtain i had. Held two baby cochins and they found their way underneath my scarf and around my neck pretty fast! I hadn't had hardly any time to bond with either 2 hatches with life happenin!
Then Coco decides he's gonna be a big boy and mount Lizzie (Bluey's girl and Joey's wants to be girl) and I never seen 2 boys come down off their porch so fast! Joey just jumped like he was skydiving down on top of Coco. I thought he was holding him there making him submit...but I'm actually not quite sure what he was doing now. Bluey goes down the stairs and then is pecking the back of Joey..meanwhile the whole time poor Coco (4 month old Cochin that is bein told by everyone in the coop even my lil d'uccles that he is a lil turd) is on the bottom smashed flat into the ground.
So tell me Joey wasn't doin the doo to the roo!?
Atleast I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Joey breaks his toenails cuz he's so dadgum rough and tootin!
And I was gonna ask yall something else but idk what it was now lo lol
I’m glad you were able to finish wrapping your run! I’m hoping tomorrow to finish mine, or at least on Monday. Tonight is the lowest it is going to be for a little. It’s getting down to 13 degrees without windchill. And the wind is starting to die down, thank goodness. It is actually 21 degrees but with windchill it is 10 right nowI have had the longest yet shortest week ever...I don't know if I'm coming or going!

Yeah I can't imagine having to help with lil furbabies on top of everything else right now! You gotta be exhausted! But they are precious! The lil with tongue out is adorable! Im glad you got some bonding time with your littles! I haven’t had time to read everything I have missed so please forgive me, but I’m guessing that the babies are doing good now? I can’t tell if I’m coming or going either, so don’t feel bad. I have been sleeping downstairs with my girl and “grand babies”. She has been doing pretty good with them but sometimes she needs a little help. And no, she doesn’t think she needs my help. But she does. Between her and I, I don’t know who is more tired. She has been sleeping through some of their cries, but as soon as I pick up the baby and bring it close to her to nurse, she is awake. I just tell her, yup..now you know how I feel…chasing 6 kids.
Poor Coco!! He was just looking for some love! And apparently he got it…just not as intended. I agree with @ChicksnMore that he will try again.
I’m so happy to hear they are doing so well!! I would assume that is why the frizzle would be colder than the others. At least it makes since you me. They are exhausting but will be totally worth it. They are just so sweet! Last night one was sleeping and starting doing a little bark.Yeah I can't imagine having to help with lil furbabies on top of everything else right now! Yeah tonight is cold here too...I'm astonished at how well the lil cochin babies are doing! The little frizzle seems to be colder than the others. I'm guessing that is cause how the feathers curl? But she acts normal ...just runs back to heat plate more often.
And the lil silkies are doin well in the garage brooder...they definitely think they should have mash ALL the time lol! Still giving them selenium and vit e and corid water for few more days.
Awe! Yeah I've never done puppies before so wasn't sure if followed same rule as chickens (cutest is always a roo in my case LOL)!I’m so happy to hear they are doing so well!! Last night one was sleeping and starting doing a little bark.It was just the cutest little sound. But no, the one on the back is a girl. And was the first one born.

That pond looks a bit chilly for swimmingHere’s my ducks this morning. And actually nothing has changed since… They have gotten out to at least eat. I was able to find them some duck food today so I got them that! So happy to have found a place that carry’s it and even though it is a drive, I at least know where to go.
