@FBMcrazy8 @Gammas Bearded Babies so sorry for all you are having to go through. So glad the coffee maker is fixed. I can't even imagine a kitchen being that cold. Praying for the weather to break soon for all y'all's sake and sanity.
Woke up to an ice skating rink everywhere in our county. DH scraped ice off the stairs and porch, but driveway is still icy, as I found out. Did not even attempt to go to the mailbox. The older we get, the harder we fall. Every now and then I hear the ice and snow sliding off the solar panels. Sounds like a bunch of gravel rolling down the roof.
Didn't get out to the chickens today, but we are finally above freezing so eggs should be ok. Rain and warmer for the next week, 50 on Sunday. The chickens may want out even in the rain.

Ice…that is about the only thing I don’t have here…except of course with the water for the animals. Sunday isn’t going to be 50 here, it will be more like next Thursday, but it is supposed to get nicer. I’m glad you were above freezing! I can’t wait until we get warmer here. Right now going out to check the water and eggs isn’t bad, it’s the run to their run that is the worst part. We still have winds at 20 mph and it’s -21 with windchill. Which is over 10 degrees warmer than it was during the day today and even yesterday. I’m hoping I can get the chickens out tomorrow but I’m not gonna lie, I’m slightly worried. I may wait until I leave to give my older girls over for their visitation.

Right now I sure am! I have to give my kids to their “bio dad” tomorrow. So we decided Santa could come tonight and of course we didn’t finish making this decision until right before bed. Which my husband took our 2 year old to bed at 7. I thought “oh this will be great! I will be done before midnight!”. Haha, that was a knee slapper! I just finished about 10 min ago. But I’m proud of myself. I survived. And since I’m sleeping downstairs, since the animals are inside still, I won’t wake up the 2 year old.

Well everything worked out today with the two waterers just as I hoped it would, I rotated them out every two to two and a half hours and they had good water all day. I just brought the one I took out of their coop and brought it inside and ran a little water around it and the base screwed right off to rinse out and fill back up for the next time. It sure beat the heck out of trying to thaw out metal ones. They were a good investment. : )

I really dislike plastic but all my waterer are plastic too. They are much easier to defrost, clean and sterilize. Only thing is, i use a product called Lifeguard 2-3 times a week and the turmeric in it stains the plastic an unsightly diarrhoea/mustard colour. Ugh!

Happy Merry Christmas eve aka the calm b4 the kid storm. Hope everyone is ready!
I got a text from the chicken parents I am sitting for and I am hopeful they will be back soon ish. No date given, chicks are fine and fun, just looking forward to less responsibility and more stretching room.

I really dislike plastic but all my waterer are plastic too. They are much easier to defrost, clean and sterilize. Only thing is, i use a product called Lifeguard 2-3 times a week and the turmeric in it stains the plastic an unsightly diarrhoea/mustard colour. Ugh!

my feeders smell like vitamins inbetween bleaches. No, big ice cubes but the metal is disgusting over here. Won't/can't use it

Oh my! They're all so beautiful and I cannot believe Manono was a runt!
I absolutely love star fruit. I haven't had any in years though as none of shops stock it anymore. Bah!

I finally got my Christmas cake decorated. It's pretty poorly done tbh but i defy anyone to keep a steady hand with a little Stanley on their shoulder intent on exploring their ear canal. He's going through a bit of a clingy phase and wants to be with me from getting up to going to bed. Think Ferdy is a bit put out
I finally got the sand in the run today and everyone is too afraid to stand on it. Clearly they think I put down quicksand...

I don’t . They never delivered it even though they called yesterday to confirm the delivery for today. I’m just hoping they can get here before we loose it. We have been conserving it as best as we can.

O that's awful. Will you have to wait until after Christmas then? I'm worried for you. Hope you guys stay warm enough!
