What did you do with your flock today?

I amused them by spending an hour throwing myself at my mom's two escaped rabbits. Finally got them both caught by hand. The birds were fascinated with the traps, carrots, and romaine hearts littered about in our vain efforts to trap them. One little lionhead we have is too light to trigger a squirrel trap!

Years ago this was years ago a friend was sitting on his sister's guinee pig..
She had told him if it is nice out take him to the yard ..
He never goes to the hedge..
Set pig down it heads straight to the hedge he is going to jump and land it block it.. Poor guy was so sick he killed it.

I cleaned the poop tray in the prefab coop the pullets sleep in.

I do scrape tables from the coops daily.. This was handed down from Grandma. They use tables made of wood as it gave a bird firmer footing

I cleaned out and put in new bedding to get ready for winter. Also, turned mulch/leaves/etc real good in the run. High of 50s coming this next week, might need to put up half the plastic on the run.

Quick update on the new and improved apartment coop. Think my DH is doing a beautiful job. Really looking forward to using it!

Today we got back from camping and the chickens were SO happy I was home because they’ve spent 2 days cooped up! Poor babies! They got several hours in the run and then got some cuddles I have tomorrow off of work so I will give them lots more time out tomorrow too!

I gave the silkie ends and cut up the tower of culiflower gave that to the birds up there.. Took them bit never having the goodies before

It’s so fun watching them check out new treats!
