Love the babies!! And your flowers! You have such a lovely space to liveAloha gang!
Been super busy with 1 more week till the kids get here. Lots going on and our place is really starting to look fabulous. (Thank you spring!)
Flock has been great. Had a few with sniffles after the rain but they went away with supportive care. Buff Roo is 95% and feeling frisky. 2 month olds are great though Cody got out of AJs compound and was able to get to one but just minor injuries thank goodness. So, everybody back in the roo cages- no more bugs.
Grandkids eggs hatched on Saturday. Some real beauties ♡ only 12 out of 15 viable.View attachment 3079000View attachment 3079001View attachment 3079002View attachment 3079003

I am starting to accept the fact that my sweet girl Newbell won’t be with us much longer :-( I’ve been treating her impacted crop for almost two months now and it’s just getting worse and she’s so very thin and I can tell she’s starting to get tired a lot and just wants to sit and be loved on. :-( I wish there was more I could do but my bird vet said the way things seem, she is likely blocked somewhere else in her system and the surgery to find it would be very invasive, expensive and may fail anyway. I feel lucky we got to have her as long as we did, but I know I’m really going to miss her dinosaur noises and constant groaning and goose noises. She’s such a gentle soul and always brightened my day when I visited them. It’s just not fair that they sometimes live such short lives. It just breaks my heart

Not sure what’s going on with Millie either. The other day I found her in the coop all by herself with her eyes closed. Never a good sign. I brought her inside, looked her over and there’s no sign anything is wrong. I’ve checked her for egg binding issues, mites, worms, illness, and there’s just nothing. She’s gotten probiotics, colloidal silver, and extra calcium, plus VetRx and Nutridrench. But she’s not interested in eating and I have to force her to drink water too. If she makes it thru the weekend I’m going to take her in to the vet…Dr is going to know me by name here pretty soon. She got a second epsom soak today and she seemed to be a bit more lively today. The first bath she just sat there, but this second time she tried several times to escape and yelled at me.
Other than that the big issue I’m grappling with is the eggs the Banty Cochins hid from me while I was sick that all appear to have babies in them…coinciding with all the eggs I planned to hatch to sell. And those eggs gave me a scare because I vacuumed my room and the vacuum managed to unplug the incubator and I didn’t notice and they spent almost 3 hours without power. Fortunately I have it covered with a sweatshirt to keep in the heat since it sits by a window and I have to have a ceiling fan on in my room. So I may have lost a couple weaker eggs but I’d say everything else seems to be fine.
Anyway, aside from all that I’m just busy with children and health issues. Gotta get my blood pressure leveled out.
