I picked up baby chicks today. Four EEs, Feathers, Squirrel, Fergus, and Moose. They’re the biggest chunky monkeys I have seen in my life.

Awwwww there’s nothing cuter than big floofy cheeked chicks snuggle sleeping! Squirrel and Moose are great chicken names

How are the baby pigeons?? Getting any cuter?

Okay, I had to come on and share some baby pictures!!

I apparently messed up my Olandsk Dwarf hatch sadly…and lockdown was too high in humidity and several were DIS and I had to assist 5 to help them hatch. Doing another round of eggs and hopefully better results! I’m selling all 5 that are healthy. The last to hatch is not likely going to make it thru the night, so I’m gonna keep her until she passes or gets stronger.

And tonight I went to candle the eggs under my broody bunch to see if any needed to be removed and a tiny silvery faced precious pants was looking at me from under Momma Molly I’m SO in love!! She looks just like Puff and Fluff and Eevee all mixed together in gorgeous chickie fluff! So chick number 1 has hatched and based on color and clean legs I know Elinor (my lavender laced English Orpington) is momma! I am inordinately more excited about this chick than I expected to be, since it wasn’t planned! But something about it being the baby of two of my own chickens and hatched by two of my other chickens makes it so special!

I just love my chickens. They’re so good and sweet. Millie appears to be on the mend. Whatever was wrong seems to have passed and she is back to herself again. Newbell is such a fighter, she’s doing her best to eat and drink and while her poop isn’t a super healthy color it’s not just liquids and urates. So food is still getting thru, just not real easily. I’ve been a sucker and let her make a meal off treats just trying to up the chances some of it gets thru—plus probiotics and scrambled eggs with Nutridrench for added nutrition. I’m also letting her eat chick starter for the added protein. So who knows at this point. She’s gonna get more eggs tomorrow! I have so many I might as well give her a bunch

Other animal updates include Miyuki getting spayed last Friday. I got this picture of her the day after she came home from the vet. I think the pain meds were good

Aria has been enjoying the new babies with me and it’s been fun bonding time. The rest of the pictures were “Mommy get a picture of me and X”

Thank you! This batch is my Supernatural theme, but I’m assuming Squirrel and Moose is a reference to an old show or something.

They’re getting so much cuter! And buggier. Poor babies had mites, but I dusted everything so hopefully it’s been taken care of. I think I caught it pretty early.
I can’t remember when I last updated, but King Louis has fully adopted them. She laid, too, so that was a surprise. She hasn’t paired up with anyone so I don’t think they’re fertile, but I’m still going to replace them with fakes, just in case.

It’s so funny, whenever she leaves the nest she tucks her eggs under the babies. Poor girl is going to be pretty unhappy when they don’t hatch.

Frittata (the smallest one, ft. Mother Bert) showing off her impressive wingspan when I cleaned out their nest. They’ve seriously been getting bigger everytime I go out there.

Big Bird has been standing more, and just the other day he was flapping his wings. They’re almost 3weeks old so they still won’t be able to fly for a little bit, but they’re already almost full size.
